I just need to check that the ticking I'm hearing is only an exhaust leak and not valves and I'm in.

"Squeaky Penguin, post: 15476378, member: 76340"]Actually just left the FS office. Sounds like we're good to go on the Ellis Jeep Trail.

    Sunday 7/02/17
Farwell Mountain - Ellis Jeep Trail

You can get a stock truck down Farwell, no clue on the new Ellis. New sign says skilled drivers with modified vehicles. Going to be a full day with trail clearing involved. Ends near Hog Park Reservoir in WY if you want to camp.

Meet at the Kum and Go/Ace Hardware at the intersection of Highway 40 and CR129 on the west end of Steamboat. As early as you guys can make it. Hopefully no later than 10:00 am so we can get on the trail.

Going to stick with Sunday, sorry if that doesn't work for you Asher.

I may or may not join you guys camping Sunday night. Guessing all the spots around the reservoir will be taken, but there's tons of other areas around there to find a campsite.

Sounds good. I can leave FoCo early too and be there well before 10 if we can get an earlier start.

As far as Sunday's camping, I'm prepared to camp but may also drive home depending on time of day when we finish the trail.

I'd like to start as early as possible. Keep in mind we have probably an hour of driving/airing down before we're on the trail. Followed by who knows how many trees to cut and a completely unknown road.

let's see how early the other drivers can get there. I can be in town by 7:00 am. Gassed up and ready to roll shortly thereafter. I would prefer as early as possible myself due to the hordes of weekend travelers.

I don't have any time restraints so 7 could work for me.

If anyone wants to camp somewhere in that neck of the woods, I'll probably head that way mid day Saturday. Being that most easy to access places will likely be taken, I'm thinking somewhere by kremmling'ish. Any takers or ideas of camp in that area?

I don't know of any places to really camp in Kremmling that would be much closer for me. Maybe Rabbit Ears? You could crash at my place if you want. Not sure where you are at now though. I could be down to camp somewhere though.

I'll be heading up from fairplay. So I'll either be taking 9 or 131 north. Just don't want to have to leave here at some crazy time in the morning.

If nothing else, there's stuff north of Silverthorne off Keyser Creek.

Blue Ridge is right across from green mountain reservoir. It's FS 200 you could probably find places to camp there if you don't mind driving into the forest a bit.

Tough call on July 4th weekend. There's all sorts of roads and dispersed camping on Rabbit Ears, but you may have to drive down several before you find a spot. If you try that I would start with FS 296, and then try FS 295. Could also try FS 103 about halfway between Wolford mountain and Muddy Pass, but you'd have to drive a few miles to reach public land. Don't think there would be as much traffic there, however.

Alternatively, if you decided to take 131, there's a few places along there that could work.
