How did you guys like all those gates to open/close down Wyman Canyon? I guess with a group it is better than solo. Doing those gates got old after a while.

 

Wasnt bad at all, I was in the middle of the group.

Your posts were the final catalyst that pushed me to buy a Tacoma in the first place. Truck has come a long way...looks good.

I'd love to be that person because then I'd just turn around and do something else.

Stayed in that camp site at Mackerricher last time we were there. How were the raccoons?

 

Didn't see any...but when I was taking a piss...in the bathroom (aka "bushes")...I heard the telltale chirping of raccoons right behind me. Finished up quick and hopped in the tent. Poor dog was restless all night and I suspect that raccoons were why.

 

lol yea they were horrible last time we were there I've noticed though when we don't have the dogs they seem to be worse though

Holy shit! Where did the road go? I've been looking at photos of all these trips since I got my F250 thinking, "Yeah, I could still get there." Not that, though. No way the Super Duty Trail Yacht would fit through there.

John, man I just have to say, you have one of the best looking rigs on here. I always look forward to your posts. Makes me wish I would have gone with the access cab, just a well balanced truck. Nice job

 

thanks man, the ideal world is a dclb but with some tight switch backs it makes the trail limo not so appealing and it doesn't fit in the garage. I do wish most of the time to have a proper back seat for passengers, but the usefulness of a long bed is more appealing to me. AC tacos are definitely rare to see in my state.

 

Heading to the Washington/Oregon coast tomorrow afternoon to try and beach camp on this long weekend. Ive been looking into Cape Kiwanda beach as Ive heard that you can camp there but I've never been there. If that fails/too many people, does any one have any good ideas that are still close to the coast and preferably not in a campground. Thanks. Probably going to be a bit of a pain being the 4th but worth a shot.

 

sand lake is just north and worth a try if you cant find anything else

 

Just got one of these from Sears for about $77. Bigger than I expected and very well made. Taped seams and reinforced pole pockets. Was pretty impressed.

 

Camping at Sir Winston Churchill Provincial Park by Lac La Biche, Alberta. Beautiful Canada Day weekend so far.

 

Got away to Idyllwild for a few days before all the 4th of july madness. Finally got to break in the new to me tent and rack.
