The whole table rocks because as you can see all the joints are poor fitting and not a drop of glue used anywhere

Wow, even with my noob ass skills I could do better than that. $500? Maybe I'm in the wrong line of work!

Wow... she got ripped off, bad. The sad part is that the shithead that built that will think it's "good" and will continue to put out bad work like that.

Yep, sadly my mom lives 6 hours away from me, she paid cash upfront for it and didn't notice all this when it was delivered. I will be making her a new one and trying to clean this junk up to sell and recoup some of her money

I've got a jointer on my list, along with a planer, a scroll saw and a band saw.

Being a beginner, maybe some of y'all more experienced guys can recommend some of these machines that are good value for the money? Preferably some machines that aren't super huge, since my garage isn't that big.

I got a delta planer at a yard sale, it works great. Rigid is also a decent brand for band saw, a friend bought the band saw and did some balancing and tuning and it works great.

Some stuff. Not a lot, just some.
Check Craigslist and local ebay ads. I got an older delta 6" jointer for $70 at a state auction. My next big purchase will be a better bandsaw. I can't do consistent resawing with my current one.

I am researching timber frame with SIPS for my future home. How is the connection made from the vertical timbers to the slab?
