Just install the supercharger on the engine and go with it, no need to rebuild unless the motor is not in good shape, with the stock pulley It will put out maybe 5-6 pounds of boost depending if your at sea level or in Colorado 5000 feet plus, you probably will not need a 7th injector, but would be advised if you can do it or decide to get a smaller pulley which I definitely would do if I was you.
I had 485,000 on my motor supercharger the whole time before a head gasket went out
that was not related to the supercharger. I run a 2.1 pulley that puts out only 7.5 pounds of boost because I'm a 5000 feet with no ping issues with the new 2004 motor I installed a year or so ago.. The 2" pulley I have puts out only 10 pounds of boost for me at 5000 feet and definitely needs the 7th injector kit or a meth injection kit which I will be added in a month so I can run the 2" pulley.. The 1997 motor came with smaller injectors then the 2004 motor and maybe that helps me with no ping issues.
Each Tacoma motor, each trd supercharger and location will very on how the supercharger effects the engine, some are lucky like me with no issues and others have Major ping issues.

Some people need the 7th some don't, there are other options out there to help with lean issues like a meth injection kit, larger injectors, etc. But for whatever reason, some 3.4l motors run perfectly fine when boosted and others, like mine, rattled and pinged like crazy under boost until I installed the 7th. Install your s/c and see how it behaves, and go from there

hey i have that same gauge (i put a red led back light in it).
found the problem with my loss of 2ish #'s of boost the shit ass steel welded muffler broke some welds and a baffle shifted over choking the exhaust enough to make it run less boost. good lord i don't even know how the truck ran.

I think i am just going to install it.
Then get the 7th injector kit probably in September... Self birthday gift haha.

I added a ton of weight to the truck. I was told to regear even if i have the S/C. Is that true? I thought the S/C would be enough

Are you running tires larger than 33s? If not I don't think it would be necessary but I'm not that familiar with regearing.

Yeah. I seemed to have copped one a couple months ago and it's real throaty but not annoying.

Love my TRD headers/exhaust...don't know if I would've forked over what it cost though had it been up to me (previous owner had them put on) but they do sound real nice.

I have Doug Thorley heads and they don't trick. Just haven't been happy with any muffler thus far. They either sound great and fall apart fast or sound like shit and last for ever

I think the aero turbine 2525xl would suit good with it. That was my primary option before I found the TRD.

Great write up! I have one simple question, do you think I would be able to replace just the seal without removing the nose cone. Just pull the pulley off and remove the "snap ring" pull out the seal and put a new one in?

Yes you can, but the oil will leak out and you will not know how much to replace, If I were you it's a little more time but just take the 8 bolts off the nose and do it that way, get a large gen zip lock bag and put under the nose and you catch all the oil, then go have a butt screw installed
at the top and the next oil change will take 3 minutes and you will know exactly how much oil you have
You don't have to remove the charger for an oil change
