I couldn't figure out how to move this thread from the 3rd gen forum so this is a repeat threat where it should have been all along. Sorry I am still learning.

This is just a write up on the Gator tri-fold pro soft tonneau cover. The price was right at $350. The vinyl is good quality and yes I know I could get it for cheaper. However it is a Florida company and I am a Floridian. Install took less than 10 min. Those of you who have done any research now that you need the plugs for the front rail. Even without them only a very small amount trickled in while driving 70+ while during heavy rain. Easy operation and so far the customer support has been great.

Toyota sells the factory ones but they are ridiculously priced. I will try to find the picture. Some tops come with foam pieces to fill the gap. If you look at the front rail. Where it comes to the sides there is a gap on bothe sides about a 1/4 inch wide. That's what needs to be sealed.

Thanks, I saw your review on gators site. Did you get yours on line or from one of their retail dealers?

I ordered it from the Gator website. After researching the installation, I knew I could handle it and I am not the most mechanically inclined. If you are thinking about it I honestly think the cheaper model is probably just as good and it is a lot cheaper.

See what I mean ? I'm trying to avoid something like that on the new one ... I sent that crap back , I don't like how that looks .

It actually looks worse in person I think , the pictures don't convey how crappy it looks in my opinion

Sorry I didn't see the pic request. Here is both sides. There is a little bump but barely noticeable unless you get close. It may be because the pro is made to order so it is not sitting in a warehouse for a long time. At least that's what they said.

I just ordered this same one from the Gator website on 7/1. About how long did it take to ship?

Looks great btw. My truck is white too so I'm excited to get it on there

Thanks man I ordered it on the evening of the 20th and it was delivered on the 29th. Though I did call due to the lack of communication after I placed the order. It's working great though. Plus they are sending me some foam to plug the front rail gaps.

Ok I got the foam pieces in the mail this morning and installed them super fast. You can still se a little light but I highly doubt enough rain will get in to damage anything I put in the bed. Great customer service, they worked quickly to fix my minimal gripe. Very happy with the product. :)

Update on the cover. It is working great but I have not seen a change good or bad for fuel economy. Though I did not buy it for that so it doesn't bother me. The bed gets a small trickle of water from the same little spot up by the front rail. I just can't justify buying the plugs from yota. A little caulk will fix it if it bothers me.

All in all I am really liking the cover and absolutely recommend it to all of you. Good luck on your searches.

I was going to ask, what's the difference between the two? I got the cheapie and I'm pretty happy with it.

As far as I can read. The pro has a little thicker vinyl and a different clamp to close it. Truthfully the cheaper will probably last just as long. Glad you like yours.

Are you having any issues with yours ballooning up while you're driving at highway speeds. I took off my middle headrest recently and noticed at higher speeds it balloons up and kind of flaps. I have no idea how it looks to other cars but it bothers me. I checked and it's still tight at all corners and the front seal seems fine to me. Maybe it's a non issue but seems odd to me
