Towing 22' bay boat that is. That was with 93 octane. Got a little less with 87. Never got a good reading towing 18' Ranger but guessing about 12.WP_20170630_001.jpg

It will get 13 or 14mpg if you pull at 55mph. I pull 4500lb travel trailer and get 10 at 65 and 12 at 55.

Welcome to the shitty mileage Baja club. I take the Altima when I want mileage. Nature of the beast.

Altima is not a choice when towing that boat or anything else. I was just looking for responses from others that tow and record mileage not a shitty response like yours. I am fine with 19-21 when not towing and Baja does not make a difference. I will be moving up to a full size the beginning of next year. Mileage while towing should improve.

It's a truck. A midsize truck. Your boat on a trailer is about as aerodynamic as an elephant. Shitty fuel mileage is expected while towing. The Baja adds to it due heavier all terrain tires and being slightly higher than a plain Jane stock Tacoma. I too have the Baja and I'm up 6 inches and rolling 35 e load range tires. With my yxz on the trailer at 65mph I'm doing about 13mpg. The Tacoma can probably pull 7000 pounds but it won't pull it efficiently at highway speeds. If you want something that tows efficiently buy a diesel. There is a difference between being able to tow something and being able to tow it efficiently. Tacomas arent know for being efficient tow vehicles. Sorry for your disappointment in the Tacoma.

Same here. 10 mpg towing a 20' Panga. Gas mileage sucks but it pulls the boat just fine.

I had concerns about mileage when I first bought my 2013 Limited, because of reading posts like this. I now tow a 3k# loaded camper and just don't give it any thought. Is it towing it and towing it well, is my only concern.

lol! From the time i saw my truck unloaded off the carrier at the dealership, brand new, I have never got 20MPG? ever! You guys expect alot, lol. Great trucks! But for sure not the best in the MPG category. Also, keep in mind, especially if you are still under warranty, verify your speedometer using a precise GPS odometer/speedometer unit. If you are running OEM tires/wheels, my magic ball says... it reads about 1.5MPH over at 70MPH. :) Keep that in mind when calculating MPG (and when warranty is getting close to the end) , just the same, when you calculate MPG with larger tires, calculate using GPS odometer, not built in odometer.

yea my stock 15' is 1.5 over stated on the speedo but heh I knew doing my research I would get sucky a@@ mileage. I tow a boat as well and uh, don't care what mileage I get. That's not a Taco trait worthy of tracking, sorry to say.

Read my post and tell me if anywhere I mention being disappointed. I am definitely not disappointed you are just assuming that I am. I was expecting about 12 but still not disappointed. I have towed all sorts of trailers with a wide assortment of vehicles so I knew what to roughly expect out of a Tacoma. Also comparing your jacked up Baja to a stock Baja is not a fair comparison. The MPGs for my stock Baja were with a couple of tenths of what I got on my 2009 Prerunner with Goodyear Duratracs in a 265/75/16 C load. If you cannot add anything useful to this thread then I suggest you refrain from posting.

So let me see if I understand your post. Is it fair to say you were just "sharing" an observation? I think the two people to whom you have responded fairly hasty assumed there was some disappointment since there was no actual question or indication you were "looking for responses".:argue:

    BTW since
You have towed all sorts of trailers with a wide assortment of vehicles you probably already know a full size truck whether Tundra, Dodge 1500-2500, Ford 250 are still going to be 10-12 mpg while towing unless you go diesel and then it will still only be like 15-16 depending on size of load.
    :crapstorm:

    Nice boat!

my 9000lb Diesel can tow a 10k load and get 14 MPG and it has 300k on it with 35s and a 4 in lift

My tacos never did well towing MPG wise, just the nature of a gasser

This doesn't count as spotting in in the Texas Tacoma stalkers thread.

Outside my shop. I'll take up as many spaces as I want. We have 5 employees and 29 parking spaces.

Your turning radius will suck. And be smarter than me and just buy the bigger leafs and extended coilovers at first. I'm saving up my pennies for that to get rid of the blocks.
