Found this on craigslist- matches my truck & has a roof rack which is a must. Only downside is I've gotta drive about 3hrs round trip to get it.

I believe it's the SnugTop Xtra Vision model- but I'm not sure. Owner says it's 2-3 years old. Only feature it lacks that i'd like to have is the pro-lock so the rear glass locks w/ the tacoma remote. is that possible to add?

    Love some feedback!

Oh yeah, 3 hours round trip is nothing. I'm prepared to drive 10 hours round trip for the right cap.

I would snag it then head to your nearest SnugTop dealer to see what they can set you up with for the keyless entry. I was happy with the Campways I bought mine from.

Brand new with the rack that thing is probably $2000-$2500. Do it.

Definitely looks like a good deal. And it does look more like the Rebel (which are compatible with the pro-lock). Based on the numbers I had when I was looking for a Rebel (4/2017), a good OTD price for that shell w/racks would be around $2,300+. Do you know if it has the fold-down front window or the headliner options?

Why don't you ask him to send you the serial number. Then you can contact Snugtop and find out exactly what model, year, and possibly options you would be getting. The more information you have when you get there, the less likely you will be disappointed. Bottom line, for $600, it would have to have major problems for you to back out of the transaction!

BTW, a couple of weeks ago I drove 4 hours each way to get my XV, so be happy your drive is only a total of 3 hours! lol

great call on getting the serial number- he sent it to me & i'll check w/ snug top tomorrow.

looks like the window up against the cab slides open from description- doesn't sound like it folds down. The underside of the shell is carpeted.

Talked to SnugTop today. They confirmed shell is a 2007 Rebel. said warranty only applies to original owner. any concerns w/ a 10 year old shell?

Ha! Isn't it funny how many sellers have amnesia or stretch the truth? He really didn't know he had it for 10 years? When you go to pick it up, casually ask him if he is the original owner. If he isn't, see how many years he has owned it.

At least now you can lower your expectation when you check it out because it should have quite a bit more wear than a 2-3 year old shell. In any case, enjoy your new shell!

ya- i think it was an honest mistake- he's as least the 2nd owner, doesn't have original paperwork, etc... probably just passing on the info given to him.
