I just took a load of scrap in today and the truck didn't squat at all when I hooked up the trailer. No squeaks or noises. I did remove the factory overload spring like it says to in the instruction. No vibrations.

    few more questions
1.) if i get the dakars EL095R springs according to wheelers they are good for 330lbs constant weight or the EL096R that are meant for like 600lbs. I think the EL096R may be a little over kill.

2.) will my stock shocks (baja reserve one) be long enough with the 2.75" lift

3.) should i get a top strut spacer to make the rake not crazy, and if so how big?

I would go for the ToyTec 1" coil seat spacer instead of the top strut spacer, if you're trying to balance/level the front and rear better. Afterward, if you still feel that's not enough, then add a 1/4" top strut spacer. Anything more, you'll need to upgrade your UCA's. Actually, I would recommend upgrading the UCA's anyway, if you haven't already done so. :D

im just worried with that much lift in the back that it would look really wonky unless i did something in the front. as far as uca i promised my wife that i wouldnt build this taco like my 02 so they probably wont happen. Im pretty much just looking to be able to put weight in the back and not have it look like a dog dragging its butt on the carpet

Stick a floor jack under the hitch. Lift 2.75", walk around and see what you think.

Legitimate concern. And understood about the wife and mods. But the 1" coil seat spacer will balance out the rear with the Dakar spring leaf packs. At least, it did with my AllPro standards. And better than just top strut spacers.

What makes it better than a top strut spacer?

x2 of what itaro said.
    Spacers vs adjusting preload?

Isn't adjusting preload better than adding a top strut spacer? Hence the preference of adjustable coilovers vs. spacers? Or am I completely off?

    Also, according to ToyTec:

1" Front Lift for BAJA TRD Tacoma's, TRD Pro Edition Tacoma and 4Runner
These spacers are designed for the larger Bilstein shock bodies which come on Special Edition TRD models
    • Fits:
      • TRD Baja Tacoma
      • 2016 or older TRD Pro Tacoma
      • TRD Pro 4Runner
    • Add's an additional 1 inch of lift for leveling or additional tire clearance.
    • Our newly desiged front lift spacer is CNC machined from solid T-6 Aluminum
    • Available in aluminum or black anodized for a long lasting finish.
    • These are designed to replace your front coil spring seats and give 1" of additional front lift.

*NOTE: These will only fit the TRD 2.5" Bilstein shocks available in the listed models. They do not fit the 2017 TRD Pro Tacoma with Fox Shocks.
    (sauce: )

So, in my mind, utilizing a model specific part that is catered to our trucks for added lift to maintain performance and fit bigger tires would be the preferred/better mod. But, everyone's got their personal preference. :D

    :notsure:
I've had a model specific top plate spacer on mine since before that spring spacer was even available. Works great for me, but I was wondering what I might be missing. I guess I prefer the softer ride of a spring that isn't pre loaded, and I needed decreased up travel with the 35s anyways. I could probably benefit from a 1" body lift or spacing my bumpstops as it is. I barely rub inside the top of the wheel wells at full compression.

I don't even bother running the air compressor. I get the bicycle tire pump. The bags are low volume and it doesn't take much effort to air them up to 50 psi or so.....

So I have a 2012 baja, and wondering what leaf springs I have in the back. I thought they were the TSB plus overload, but looks to be two springs added, with overload removed. Cannot find any part numbers or stapms.. Can a second gen baja post some pics of their back springs, or educate me as to what I have? Thank you for the information!!!

Thats what im thinking.. Measurements are 23.5 midhub to fender on driver rear, and 24 passenger. Whats stock baja height in back?

From looking around, seems I'm about 1.5 above stock trd of. I wonder if these are the icon aal? without the lower overload?

Looks like Icon or Wheeler's AAL with overload removed, and that height sounds correct for that setup. The new leaves are the thinner ones, and the thicker ones are stock.

Just returned from a 4100 mile excursion thru the west, San Antonio to Yellowstone and back. We did Bonniville salt flats, Ouray and Engineers Pass, all awesome places. I don't think I would have enjoyed it as much without my SPC upper control arms as these 2nd gens are a "castor disaster" from the factory. Stays in the lane now with very little attention and no discernible tire wear-- just thought I would share the info.
