I am planning to install a Ready Lift 3" front /2" block rear leveling kit on my 2010 Tacoma, will I need to trim anything or remove my mudflaps if I go to a 33 inch tire?

Some basic trimming, yup! Took me 20 mins with a hammer and some sheet metal clippers and it was good. Mostly near the cab side, the front side i have an aftermarket bumper there so cant speak to that.

    Edit: Grammar

depends on the exact tire size and the wheel you use. Most likely mud flaps will have to go. With the right tire size and wheels, minimal if any trimming needed.

285/70/17 (32.7" x 11.3") with FJ Trail Team Ed. Toyota OEM wheels, no rub

    3" lift

(rubbing shown on UCA was from using same tires on OEM Tacoma TRD Sport Wheel)

Thanks for the inputs. Should I consider new shocks, I noticed during the 2" block install in the back that there was more travel possible once the shocks were removed.

Yes you should. Stock shocks won't do well with a 2" block in the rear. Extended 5100s will do well for you at a decent price.

If you plan on doing any wheeling, you should go with a better lift. You risk bottoming out and using your front shock as a bump stop, or over extending your rear shocks.

I Think by "Ready Lift" he was referring to changing the whole unit. Meaning appropriate struts and coils. At least I hope so! As far as the rear... blocks are never a good idea. Price some Deaver AAL or Dakar springs. If you install yourself you would be surprised how affordable they are and your ride will be 100x better! Blocks and oem springs = body roll. As stated above, yes for new rear shocks rated for your lift. Billy 5100 are pretty cheap and do well!

I Tried spacers up front/ blocks in back

    That sucked!

I tried Billy 5100 lift in front/ blocks in back

Sucked a little less, but not acceptible!

I chose and installed my own coils and struts to my needed specs/ blocks in back

Front awsome in everyway! Back, body roll!

I installed Deaver AAL in rear... Cadilac Style drivin' every since.

In other words, I spent a fortune trying to do it "cheap" to learn I had to do it right :)

In the end to do it right, $800 for coils and struts, $200 for AAL, turned wrenches myself.

Ok, here is the completed project. I am VERY happy with the results. Got 33's on it with only needing to remove the front mudflaps and heated up and pushed in the plastic inside the fender well slightly. No rubbing, ride quality is very close to what it was.IMG_4322.jpg IMG_4321.jpg

    This.

If you plan to do any off roading, toss those blocks in the trash and get lift springs and shocks. 5100s for the front, ven use your stock springs, or go OME, and at minimum an AAL with 5100s or 5125s in the rear.
