I used to live in Quincy long ago. Still get up that way in the summer, more toward Lower Bucks Lake (I help with a non-profit camp up there). Drive thorugh Quincy, Sierra Valley, Truckee to get there. I miss living in Plumas County, you could 4x4 on your way home from work every day! Took my now-wife on a date and we drove to the top of Claremont to watch the sunset. I'll wave to you if I see you!

PS- If you want a nice little 4x4 trip head up to Argentine Lookout via Brady's Camp or 4-Corners. Lots of combinations of ways to get that way, you can get lost for weeks up there!

My neighbor had a water pipe leaking in his house. He tried to with it with Tehama he had, but only made it worse. He ended up having to call in a professional to fix it right. So after a full day of looking at Plumas Butte, and $300 later they finally have it fixed. I guess he learned his Lassen.

I was up towards Bradys Camp last summer to camp, had no map, did not turn the GPS on, so headed some place else to camp. Been years since I was up that away. Since I retired a year ago, been hitting some new areas.

How much snow is up in the Lassen NF area still? And does anyone know how high antelope creek is this year?

I'm on the coast in Ferndale but I'm always inland playing in the mountains. Was going to go over and do Peligreen Jeep Trail last week but had some unexpected houseguests pop in for 2 days that necessitated my attention.

The park still wasn't fully open when I was there over Memorial Day. But the area around is you'll see minor snow around 5500 until you get higher and shaded areas. I didn't catch much around Almanor

That's actually where I was thinking of heading up. Have you been on that trail in the last few months? Was curious what the conditions were like.

Phone for the Almanor Ranger District in Chester is 530 258-2141.
I was camped in Lassen Park about 6 weeks ago or more, snow up to the eaves still at the Visitor Center. You can check status of the road thru the Park on their website. Headed into the Bucks Lake Wilderness this afternoon with my pup. Gonna be warm there too. Around 87 where I live in Meadow Valley, town was 96 I think. Music festival starts next week.

I know it's not much of a trail just a road. But it's still fun to take my 7 year old daughter up to the N. Battlecreek resevior and out by Potato Buttes since I live down in Anderson. I need to find some new stuff though.

I bought my truck for winter snow, live on a private road and to help a little getting firewood, not to tear up. The worst I'll do is go around Gold Lake in the Lakes Basin to the OHV CG.

Most of Lassen NF has melted off except some of the peaks. It's a little south of me but I'm sure the creek is raging like most are. As far as the park, they've only plowed 5 miles from the visitors center. The north park road is open to the devastated area but the anticipated open date for the park road is July.

I know there is snow in some areas of the Plumas. I couldn't make it up to Pilot Lookout Tried to get near Poker Flat from the Little Grassvalley Lake area. Hit a snow drift. might be open by next week. I tried to get to Eureka State Park from Little Grassvalley Lake hit snow again on the north slope this week. I work on the Plumas on the Feather River District.

I work in the Plumas And Lassen areas. I'm a logger. I think the area around yellow creek and longville are my favorite places to take a drive.

Anyone going to anything in the sierras this weekend? Thinking of hitting Paul bunion days in Westwood and maybe a rodeo in Taylorsville. Then idk. Just in a hurry to go away for a few days.

Any trails to you guys recommend hitting and/or spots to camp at? I'm thinking about going up here again in a week. I'm from San Diego. The last time we were in Lassen we did most of the tourist stuff like hike the Lassen peak.

Creek thru my acre is down quite a bit. Headed West to do some camping and hiking in the Yolla Bollys. 60 over night, few bugs. Mostly Tacomas at the trailhead.

In the Caribou Wilderness Friday night with the pup. Backpacking by Long Lake. Heard on the radio may be awhile still before the road thru Lassen is open, check their website.
