Showing pic as example to answer @alphabravo inquiry. I've heard decent feedback on their tents. Personally, I don't own one and have never seen one in person. So there's that...

Does anybody else have issues with the plastic zipper when trying to zip up the travel cover? The zipper teeth on my cvt Mt Shasta summit never want to stay in line and I have to hold them in place just to close it... wish the zipper was metal.

we've been having issues with ours a lot lately. I think it just needs a good lube job. been a couple years, on the truck since delivery, and exposed to the elements.. and used very frequently. just gets worn out. next time we are out I need to remember to bring some vasoline or something.

You'd probably still want to hold them in place to coax them, but candle wax can make it easier to zip.

Thanks, I might give beeswax a try and see if that helps. I just got the tent from the last CVT group buy so I'm still an RTT noob lol. Looks great so far though, can't wait to put it through its paces! And also a shout out to CVT and their amazing customer service (especially Jamie)!

    It's here!

I had to leave shortly after it was delivered, so I didn't have time to play with it. But this thing is great. Also, its huge. Bigger than I thought it would be.

I'll post more info when I'm back home tonight.

Ok, I'm back home and had a chance to inspect this thing a bit more. I really like it, for the most part. Excuse the photos, I don't have much room to move inside my tiny 1-car garage, currently housing the tent, a motorcycle and various clutter.

The tent made in China, but the build quality is pretty solid. Couple of minor spots where the work is sloppy (see power port photo below). All bolts and nuts came in a nice little partitioned pouch and they even included a ratcheting box wrench! Also, [not sure how] long cigarette lighter to barrel plug cable to supply power to the tent. The sleeping pad seems firmer than the one used on my Mt. Shasta, which I like. I wont need to buy another one because I like to sleep on my side and the one in Mt. Shasta was a bit too soft.

Here are few things i did not like:

    1. Screens on rounded windows do not unzip open. Not a big deal, but I like to put a chair on top of my cab rack sometimes. Would've been nice to get out to the roof via the window.

    2. The awning/door, rod inserts and bag mounts are on the driver side. I will get used to it, but it was nice to have it on the passenger side on the Mt. Shasta. Being able to use it on either side would've been a nice option.

    3. Awning/door... eh... this was a weird design decision. To zip it up, you have to take it off the rods and remove the rods. Adding an extra flap that could be used closed while keeping the awning above the entrance would've been a MUCH better option.

    4. Power port is all the way at the back of the tent. I understand why, they put it closer to the switch/usb ports, but extra wire is pretty cheap. Could've put it closer to the front....

    5. You have to use hex bolts with a wrench to hang/remove shoe attachments. A wing-nut of some sort or a simple hook would've been much more convenient.

    6. Internal clothes hooks are of rather odd design. Something "sportier" would look much better.

None of these things are major issues, and I understand that I am an early adopter and these things may be ironed out in the future, but more thought should've been put into usability aspects of the design

Also, there are 2 straps on each side of the tent, that I don't understand the purpose of, because they don't seem to loop in any way and one side is just a 2" piece of a strap. Maybe its for securing the ladder, but i don't understand how...

Candle wax, Bee's wax, simple old bar o soap all work fine. You'll notice the difference immediately.

On drysuit zippers I used Mcnetts zipcare: https://www.amazon.com/McNett-Gear-Care-Cleaner-Lubricant/dp/B00HATSKPG

Just curious. Anyone else using a Gordigear RTT? So far, I'm pretty dang happy with mine. We spent last weekend trying to run the Highline Drive all the way from Highway 6 down to I-70. Had three different spots that are still blocked by snow, so we didn't make it all the way and had to back track a couple of times. But the great thing is when it was 100 down in the valley, we had 60's and 70's way up top!

    Big view of camp
