First post here, wondering if anyone knows of any do it yourself pre made LT kits, I'm not looking to break the bank on a 4K camburg kit when I can weld it myself, wondering if anyone knows of any shops that sell pre cut ready to burn kits, thanks

Not that I have heard of. Where are you located? It will be helpful if you put it in your personal details so it comes up every time you post. There was a camburg kit with fox coilovers, new uniballs, and secondary shock hoops on CL recently for $3500. Keep an eye out and you could save a lot on a used kit.

There aren't any major companies that do this most likely for quality control reasons. If someone starts getting the kits and welding them poorly / out of spec and selling them or someone buys a used set from someone that didn't weld them well, the company's rep is going to get worse. The kits really aren't a whole lot of money compared with the labor and time it would take to fab up something of your own that performs just as well. I don't think you'll be seeing anything like this from a major company any time soon. There were quite a few guys making kits in SoCal a few years ago, but it's usually been for their friends or backups for themselves, or they've moved on since first gens were in their hey day unfortunately.

@jeffz0rz said he's either got one finished or in development that should give more travel than 3.5 kits. It will probably be a good deal for the travel vs. price compared to a major brand. I don't know if he would let you WIY. I'm pretty sure DTF wouldn't let you weld his cut outs.

I agree on this, a lot of risk to have a WIY kit that could be confused with the end product from the fabricating shop itself.

Thanks for all the input guys, I'm in the Huntington Beach area and I saw a WIY kit on Instagram for cheap but can't remember what local shop had it, major companies defiantly don't want their rep ruined cause someone can't weld, and I really don't feel like putting in the time myself to design one, I'm gonna check out a couple local small time shops and see

Do it yourself bumpers and things like sliders or axle trusses if you make a few mistakes warping things unless it is so bad they fall off the truck going down the road .

Suspension parts your going down the road sideways so to speak .

Over the years I fixed a Few do it yourself Suspension experiments

Im curious if this project ever survived? For as long as those arms are, they seem to have very little reinforcement.

Look up blazeland. I've got a buddy that runs it on his runner. And it's not bad

I think y'all are on the wrong track here. All long travel setups and solid axle long arm lifts are weld it yourself affairs. They fab all the brackets and components but the end user (or the end user's shop) has to cut off old mounts, brackets, and components then weld the new mounts and brackets to install new components. And make sure everything is aligned and squared. Nobody drives their Jeep to Genright just to install a 6" long arm lift and relocate their shocks.

I see your point for this and for what you're talking about it is right on the money. We're not really discussing the same parts. We're talking about welding together IFS LCA's and UCA's that would all be bolt on (unless you want to get more than 13" or so of travel on first gens). You'd at least need to fab up a jig.

Here's an LCA from @DTFtacoma that was mentioned earlier:

I agree with this, without a jig to set things up right, I would hate to have something blow up after being tested under proper load. Im sure to the competent fabricator that can be done, but to the average joe...its a lot of risk to take on.

Lol. Most of the money spent isn't covering the cost of the shop to weld the arms together. It's covering the cost of design, testing, time spent in solid works, cnc programming, the cost for the laser cutter, cnc bending, welding fixtures, and the overhead plus having all the people including the receptionists to make this all come together. The welding takes a few hours and is done by a guy making around $20/hr. If someone thinks they will save thousands by picking up all the parts that were carefully put together by a shop and throwing some flux core at it they definelty don't understand what goes into a long travel kit and should probably leave it to the pros.
