While you posted it in the 1st gen forum I have cheap solution for you: sell your 2011, for that money buy the 1st gen and for whatever is left get the lift.

    Sorry couldn't resist :brianr:.

go with the max trac, you'll be able to keep all your stock front suspension components. as for the rear its up to you. if you need the towing capacity you might want to upgrade with a better leaf pack. if not then go with the block if you dont mind a harsher ride. youll need the break lines and longer shocks for the rear either way you go

Thank you for the great info. Do you have any suggestions/links for the shocks and brake lines. And just to clarify if I get the blocks, I absolutely need to get break lines and new shocks?

well if you're going 4" in the front you will want to raise the back at least 2" so its not totally bro. and yes you will want to replace the rear shocks in the rear also since youre lifting it. otherwise you risk pushing the stock shock out of their limit and damaging them. you could also damage brake lines.

call marie at headstong offroad, she is amazing and will answer any question you have. she knows more about our trucks than most.
she is also an active member here so you can also shoot her a PM here if you'd rather

the only thing about spindle lifts....your front tires will stand out wider than your rear tires. if you want to fix it you have to add wheel spacers to the rear wheels

    3 things:

    1) Never do blocks, they suck.
    2) Never stack lifts (using 2 different lifts to achieve the lift you want).
    3) Never post questions about a 2nd gen in the 1st gen forum, you will be mercilessly ridiculed.

But more importantly, if your truck is a 4x4:

4" lift is too much lift for a shock or spindle lift. The CV angle is too high (even with a diff drop kit), and you'll destroy your CVs. Even 3" with a diff drop is pushing it, really...

Your link states that you can run 33's with the 4". While that's probably true, it's hardly necessary, and certainly not the only way to fit 33's.

If 33's are your goal, there's an entire thread on how to do it with a 3" lift (just search, it's around somewhere). You may end up trimming a little here and there, or getting wheel spacers, but your CV's will thank you, and sticking to 3" or less will save money, too (since you can do 3" with just Bilstein 5100's and an AAL in the back... Again, blocks suck, don't get them.

There really aren't that many reputable companies doing 4" kits for a reason, and IMO, companies that offer 4" kits without a bracket style drop kit, are not reputable... Pro Comp has a 6" kit with brackets and all the other wizbangs you need, bet even that lift has a spindle lift which further increases your CV angles (imo, not a good thing).

I just ordered a set of extended travel King coilovers, total chaos upper a-arms and a diff drop, I plan to keep the lift to about 2", as this will allow the extra drop travel without too much of an extreme CV angle at full droop.

spindle lifts only work for pre runners not 4x4

    That's kinda my point...

OP's first link says it's for 4x4 or 4x2, and the 2nd link included a diff drop option, so I am assuming he's got 4x4...

which is why I went off on my rant... :)

yea he never specified 4x4 or not and he posted a link for spindles so i figured he was 4x2.
4" spindle lifts dont change the geometry of the stock suspension much (if it changes it at all). thats why they are not as bad as a 4" coilover. since it keeps all stock coil and shock it makes the ride feel more stock

now a 4" coilover is a nightmare if not done correctly

Which is probably why I've never seen a 4" coilover... A terrible idea. That tuff Country lift is a close 2nd, though, expecting 4" out of spacers and extended shocks...

Really not the best way to go, even for 2wd... IMO, even the 4" spindles aren't that great for 2wd. You'll get better performance by upgrading to 5100's and setting them at the highest level because at least you get aftermarket shocks with the deal. Spindle lifts and blocks are good for one thing, IMO. Mall crawling. If that's your thing, cool, but I wouldn't wheel with that kind of lift...

    dont let @ChadsPride hear you
spindle lifts aren't bad for wheeling really. the stock spindles are pretty weak and having a beefier spindle can allow more beatings. there are people who who jump sand dunes with spindles lol

now the blocks...yea thats totally different. blocks will provide the lift you want but not the performance

lol, very true. There are guys that jump their 100% stock OEM trucks, too... Then there are guys who throw $9000 at a Total Chaos LT kit (which use the oem spindle), and then mainly just mall crawl with it, lol...

To each their own, really. I just come from a mindset that if you're going to mess with the suspension, you should be looking at function over form (although the shiny blue Kings I just ordered sure do look purdy!). It seems to me the only reason to run 4" is so you can get it high enough to fit 33's and not have to do any trimming. That's cool, but not ideal... Ideally, you want the *minimum* lift that will fit your tires, and that can be done with a 3" (or even less) with a little elbow grease and a hammer.

I didn't really mean to say that spindles are "bad", just that there are better (overall performance wise) options for similar coin, in my opinion of course...

If you're worried about your oem spindles, get some spindle gussets from total chaos and they will handle pretty much anything.
