rebooting my motorcycle life...things have changed. helmet speakers?

wow..what are all those speaker things i see hanging off of peoples helmets?

stereo speakers for bluetooth music? or are they for talking on a phone..or to a riding buddy?

 

All of the above. I personally never had any of it but the rider to rider comm would be cool I guess

 

Dual rider (usually touring bikes) comm would serve a purpose. Even bike to bike if touring together.

I'm skittish enough about knuckleheads around me that I don't care about music, phones, etc.

 

So, They are Bluetooth Modules.. You can sync with your phone or other peoples Bluetooth modules. You can listen to your music while riding, get Navigation updates, chit-chat with other riders that have the same capability...

They're different brands and models but you get the jist.

The funny thing is all these idiots with GOPROS mounted to there helmets.. I think its funny as shit when you see some idiot with a $100 helmet and a $400 camera mounted to it... oh also the Gopro mout is so strong that in the event of a crash... it can catch a crack/seam in the road and snap your neck..

 

I've got the Cardo System Scala Rider units. I only use it for helmet to helmet when I'm riding with my wife or daughter.

 

Sena low profile is the best ive ever used. Pairs to my ipod, phone and gps.

$170ish at Revzilla...not to bad. i miss play by play mapping directions.

Not to derail, but we use these in our hardhats for tree work / forestry...greatly improves comms and safety.
