You never told her you were referring to "TW Time" and not regular time.

Morning everyone! Enjoyed catching up. @Casper66 if anyone tries to put you down, kindly ignore them and get them out of your life. No one needs that negativity.

I'm always reading, but don't always feel the need to contribute :spy:

With the new relay can you put back drl or the blocker cancels it for good? And then those lights only work for flashers?

Here is a little write up on how to acces to the axle seal at the front differential:

    • Start with taking the wheel off (21mm socket)
    • Disconnect the brake line holder on the spindle (12mm socket) and also the ABS wire from its holder (flat head screw driver)

    • Remove the caliper from the disc. there are 2 bolts behind (17mm socket). I use my impact to get them out. Then put the caliper away. I use a jackstand to hold it so I don't pull on the brake lines

    • Remove the disc from the hub. If is has never been done I could get hard since corrosion makes it stick to the hub. you can use a hammer to take it off or, I think there is a small treaded hole on it to put a bolt and when you screw it it will push on the hub and push the disc out ( this information has to be confirm since I didn't tried it)
    • Use a small flat head screw driver to remove the hub bold cap. After making a gap big enough, use a bigger flat head to no break the small one

    • Remove the cotter pin and the lock "washer" from the shaft and use a 35mm socket to remove the nut. I don't have a 35mm socket so I used a 1"1/8, which get the job done really well. Remove it with the impact but use a torque wrench at 173 lbs to put it back

    • For next step you'll need 2 hammer. One of those need to be a pinball hammer. Put the ball in the center of the shaft and hit it with the other hammer to slide the shaft out of the hub. The shaft won't get out completely and don't try to do so! You just wan't to unstick it

    • Use a 17mm wrench to loosen the bolts behind the hub. I used a lever to break them loose

    • Slide the hub out of the shaft

    • Now to remove the 2 bolts of the LCA (19mm socket) I used the impact to remove them and put them back with the torque wrench at 118 lbs. I use my bottle jack to support the LCA while unbolting. when the bolts are out I drop the jack and the lca gets out of the way. I also use the bottle jack to lift the lca when it is time to bolt it back to the spindle.

    • Unbolting the should makes enough play to be able to take the shaft out of the spindle. Pull on the spindle and push on the shaft. Give a good shot and it should come out

    • Now to remove the axle. Take a medium lenght prybar and a hammer and lay under the truck. Put the tip of the bar on the notch of the axle and hit the handle with the hammer to pull it out (picture to follow) be sure to have an oil pan under the diff housing because oil will spill out when you will take the axle out, and also more when you pull the oil seal

    • You have now reached the seal. To remove it I used a prybar with tape on the tip to not damage anything else than the seal ( thanks to a thread here somewhere) Pop the seal out. If the seal has never been changed it could be hard. mine popped out with a lot of energy!

    • Put the new seal in using the tool of your choice (I won't recommand any since nothing really seemed to work for me... some recommand 2" pvc pipe, or 3" pvc pipe. I used my hands only and pushed it in until flush with the housing. First try I put it in too deep (+-1/8" deeper than the housing lip) and it was still leaking. now flush and seems to be fine (will update this week). Put some oil on the seal perimeter to help sliding it in.
    • Now you can put everything back together. For the axle, insert the shaft inside the diff. be sure it is standing straight and use the prybar and hammer to push it back in. Be sure to be straight!!
    • Check the Toyota Torque spec guide for everything you might want to torque to spec
    • Don't forget to refill oil in the front diff to compensate the loss of oil during the time it was leaking and also when you pulled the seal out. A 10mm hex head socket is needed to open the fill plug.

Little disclaimer: This was my method to access to the seal and remove it. Use this method at your own risk. I don't want to be hold responsible for any damage that can occur by using this method and tools
