Morning all:

Nice car Tom!

Just when I thought it couldn't get much worse!
Went up to the river yesterday, jet wouldn't work properly then not at all, seemed like it wasn't getting fuel. Then the trolling motor plug didn't seem to be making contact and I had to wiggle it and keep messing with it to get it to run, then coming into the launch I broke the prop on the trolling motor!
Found out that the fuel pickup tube in the fuel tank came off, fixed that, then took both plugs apart for the TM and revamped them, seemed to have fixed whatever was going on there, then put a new TM prop on that I had as a spare, should be good to go now, at least for awhile!
And---no walleyes!

Doing okay I guess. Got a mild case of the summer doldrums from this sticky weather and it looks like we have a few more days of it at least. Still have some wood to split from the huge oak we had cut back in December, but it seems like every weekend lately has some kind of event that makes renting the splitter a waste of time/money. All small stuff in the grand scheme.

How about you?

 

Doing good Thanks. Driving occasionally for the dealership and keeping busy staying out of trouble with the missus (that's a full time job). We are heading upstate for the weekend to do some much needed work on the old place and hopefully get at least one day to relax. Son and daughter-in-law are coming up as well so we will try heading to the drive ins to see a movie or two.

Hi Carl, sounds like you couldn't win yesterday with the boat and fishing. Hopefully things will get better fishing. They gotta be biting soon.

Glad you were able to diagnose your fuel problems and had a spare TM prop.

Those Walleyes better watch out now.

 

Sometimes a bad day fishing isn't better than a good day working.

 

We didn't fish for walleyes in the summer, always spring and fall. This is a learning experience how to target them during the summer and hopefully this fall will make up for the bad year we have been having so far. At least I have other boats to use, but that doesn't do us any good if the one we are using decides to act up while we are fishing out of it!

 

I can relate. Blew the power head on my outboard about 3 years ago. Not cost efficient to rebuild a 14 year old motor. New replacement motor was $9650.00 installed. At least I got 6 years of warranty.

Afraid to guess how much per pound my fish cost.

I don't even want to try to estimate how much per pound my fish and venison cost!
I would have to believe I could have bought a lot of lobster tail and prime cuts of meat for what I have "invested" in fishing and hunting equipment!

 

LOL, How many memories of great meals do you have? I bet you have way more memories of great times fishing!

Received the reimbursement check for the battery today, Sunoco did come through not that they really had a choice on the matter!

Carl, sorry about the bad luck with the boat; seems like sooner or later the odds catch up to you with any boat. At least it's recoverable without "too" much pain.
