LOL, the lights are just small flashlights that I had on me and I wanted to see what "effects" I can get from doing that? I do have some flexible LED strip lights with a "clear" rubber tube that they're inside of that I plan on using for wheel lights? They may or may not work like I'm hoping?

LMAO, it was a last minute thing that I thought of doing. I just kinda... did it... ? Plus, I had to take off to my sisters immediately after that as well. So, in that sense, I was rushed. I left at around 2:00 in the morning from the top of the peak and BOMBED it DOWN the mountain pretty damn quick. Anyways, I believe you were busy doing something as well, because you couldn't make it to the one that the group and I did and later you texted me some pics from a camping trip that you did of some kind and it was all right around the same time this all happened. That's when I did that trip as it was only a few days after the group run that I decided to solo run it (i.e. you were gone and nobody else wanted to go with me)!!!

    EDIT:
Btw, I plan on doing another night run up that mountain if you really do wanna go and have never been? I do NOT know the trail that well though, believe it or not, so you will have to bare with me if we were to get lost for whatever reason??? I actually DID TAKE the wrong turn as I was coming down because there is a brown blank sign at a fork and I couldn't remember which way to go. It was all good though in the end because I ended up on the 15fwy side of the mountain (i.e. near Lake Elsinore) and it shaved off approx. 30-40min extra drive time!!!

But yeah, I'll let you know when I finally go get my truck and doing that night run again. I'm hoping around late Sept early Oct? Believe it or not, it was pretty HOT, definitely warm that night and it was finally starting to cool off at around the time I left!!!

About the trail, it is REALLY easy, but there are SOME hill/areas that 4wd really does come in handy for sure (i.e. the dirt/rock is super soft and loose in those areas as well as the divots/ruts can be "off camber", if I'm using the term correctly, but NOTHING too gnarly)!!!:mudding: You can do it in 2wd, but you have to sortof "rush up and over" while, sometimes, bouncing and sliding around as you're doing that, LOL!!!

This was the biggest party spot 30 years ago. Last time I was up there 90 percent of the trails were closed and there was no target shooting allowed. It's kind of sad that the youngsters in the area can't enjoy it like we used to. Very nice area though.

Arroyo Grande... a typical desert camp where-ever-you-want set-up. Obviously, leave the site as clean (or cleaner) than you found it. Any closed gates that are not locked, pass through but close behind you (they are to control cattle).

Baja California is an amazing place to explore in a 4x4 Tacoma and it is like going back in time before so many rules and regulations that stifle us in California were enacted. The public land is for the public. If some idiots leave trash, find and punish them, not everyone.

Awesome shots ! ..yeah agree with you, unfortunately a trash can be within 5yards, and people will still throw stuff on the ground.

I work for my province and people will drive back to the woods on crown land to dump household garbage that they could simply place at the end of their driveway and a garbage truck would pick up for free. It's included in their taxes, but you can't fix stupid.

Some people make you scratch your head.

Unfortunately trash is not the only way wilderness gets destroyed, leaving established trails, poaching, stealing artifacts, cutting timber without a permit and worst of all in my opinion, the government leasing public lands for logging and drilling. All of it is disastrous to wildlife who are already stressed and pushed onto the only open space left while cutting them off from their normal migration.

Violators of common sense rules about protecting our wilderness should certainly be fined but it won't stop them nor will it undo the damage they may have caused. Just look at all the crap that has happened in Death Valley over the past few years. It sucks that a few assholes can ruin for everyone, I am not advocating they close off areas because of a few idiots but it's not so simple as fining people into behaving.

Edit: Awesome photos! Looks like a an amazing trip
