2017 Tacoma TRD OR Blackout Build

Intro
2017 Tacoma DCSB TRD OR w/ Premium+Tech package. Purchased in Tampa, FL. Paid $36,000 even. I use my truck mostly as a daily driver, DIY house projects, and short getaways. No intent to go off-road, but wanted to get the OR for the 4x4, appearance, and interior luxuries. Overall theme I'm going for is clean, close to OEM as possible, all black with minor accent colors.

Current mods

1. Removed pin stripe
2. Removed TRD OR vinyl decals
3. Debadged V6 decal and dealership tags on the tailgate
4. Debadged Tacoma badges on driver and passenger.
5. Installed TRD Pro Grille. Paid $380. Part #

6. Installed Falken Wild Peak A/T3W. P265/70/17. Paid $488 from DTD.
7. Installed TRD SEMA Matte Black Rims. Paid $680. Part #

8. Installed Clazzio Perforated Leather Cover Seats. All black. Paid $423.
9. Tinted Windows. 15% front, 32% back and rear over privacy glass.
10. Install OEM exhaust tip. Paint matte black before install. Paid $57. Part #

Badges came off today, will post more pix.

 

Nice truck. Tinted windows are a must for that hot Florida sun especially with a black truck.
Black is such a sexy color too it's my top color after MGM.

 

Have you painted the exhaust tip yet? Can you explain the process?

 

You can always go with some Black Enamel Spray to black it out and should withstand the heat.

 

Cool. I wasn't sure if the chrome/stainless needed special prep.

Falken Wild Peak A/T3W 265/70/17 P-Rated. Installed with matte black TRD SEMA 17" wheels last weekend. Awesome tire, very aggressive look but drives smooth and quiet. Heard mixed reviews about tread life, so hoping these things hold up on the pavement. Love the basic and classic look of the TRD SEMAs.

 

Clazzio black leather seat covers. Went with the triple black - black insert, black outer, and black stitching. I did only the front seat last week, which took two hours. Fingers hurt and a lot of frustration installing them in 95 degree weather, but it was well worth it. Love the look and feel. Will do the backseat this weekend or next.

 

Debadged all around the truck - no decals, vinyl, or stealership logos.

 

Installed the TRD Pro Grille last weekend. Huge upgrade over that crappy chrome look. Easy install, took about 30 minutes start to finish. Didn't want to go the plasti-dip route... doesn't make sense to me to spray that trash on a $40,000 truck.

 

I decided to give it a go the other day. I'm loving it!

Yep. I painted all the way up to the exhaust hanger.

 

I'll have to give that a look, I wasn't planning on doing that but I like the way yours looks. All black!

Ordered matte black vinyl lettering for TRD SEMA wheels and PRO Grille from @rrentrop ... looking forward to putting them on.

 

Ordered Leer 100XQ topper with Onyx black paint match. Should be ready and installed in two weeks.
