I kept going back and forth on 285s or 255s. I wanted the Cooper ST PROs in 285, but decided to just run 255/80r17. But then was comparing the ST MAXX to the KO2 or KM2, whichever one it is, well Discounts eBay page had their spend $400 get $100 off on 255 ST MAXX, $840 and 5 tires later.... They should match up nicely with my 5 RAY10s

Looks great Rob, Question on the tires notice much power lost on the 10ply tires. Like the tires.

Hoping to grab a set of these on next shipment. Don't want to have to get VTX just to get wheels :(

Thanks. To be honest, it does tend to drop down into the lower gear on uphill grades a little sooner now. The temp yesterday driving home from the shop was pushing 93+ degrees though so that could have had something to do with it but I later found out the real culprit was the totally F'd up tire psi's on them. You can see how in the pics they have that rock crawling squat look. That's because they were all underinflated. One was nearly at 28??? Kinda made me question the shops integrity or my digital pressure gauge. Once I raised them all to 37 the truck wss definitely rolling better. I'm going to check it today with two other gauges I have to be sure. Then reset the TPMS so I can monitor it more easily. Not sure if all 2017s show actual psi for each tire but mine does. My 14' Runner did not. Just OK or LOW. Lame.

For me though, and my driving style, which in general is tame to keep the MPGs up can get very spirited in the drop of a hat. I watched it like a hawk coming home from the shop and it was dropping 10ths every couple of miles. I thought "oh crap, here we go" but after I corrected the psi it went back up. After going out and coming home it was stable at 19.5 again. And we run the A/C on low constantly. I just try to keep the Rs at 2k or less all the time.

Even if it drops to 18 mpg's that will be 2 - 3 more than I was getting in the 4R with the Duratracs. So I'll still be happy.

    Rob

Nitto lists it at 31.65" on an 8" wheel. Weight is listed at 54.66 lbs.

By comparison, the C rated 285/70 is 57.89 lbs and the E rated is the same.

Honesty the E is not overkill with this Hybrid A/T tire in my opinion. Of course I've only had it a day.

If you only go 2'' shouldn't need them, but yes I would want them.

Extended travel you need UCA's, even if you don't crank it up. Midtravel, you don't necessarily have to have them. Some trucks can get away with it, some can't.
