Blower motor toast

So my brand new 2017 tacoma sr5 blower motor is toast. Dealer called me back and said "something may have got in there and broke the fan blades......" they are ordering me a new one. Ill post a video when i get home.

 

There was just a guy yesterday with the same issue and there have been several others prior to that, think that plastic is brittle.

 

Happened to me too within a couple thousand miles.

 

You can YouTube how to change your cabin air filter. Once you pull it out the cheap plastic fan is visible to inspect. Mine was cracked, it's a common problem. The dealer had to give me a rental for a day till they got the part in.

Buddy had his go in his camry at about 35K miles. He made it to the dealership just under the warranty iirc.

 

same thing happened to me. They are back order and had to order from japan still waiting and no time frame
