I could probably be convinced. It doesn't take much. There's not a whole lot going on up here for wheeling though. Camping and mountain biking or hiking in my part of the state.

 

There's a couple serious trails in western MA

 

I've heard of a couple. Ma Bell and Old Florida Road. I'm sure there are others.

 

Old Florida Road and Ma Belle are two of my favorites out there.

 

I bought a Chevy

 

MA Bell is about 30 mins from and right down the road from my buddy Levi (I work with him at his place on cars for side money, he has a lift and such) Old Florida Rd is like an hour and a half from me, but I have never been up there

You guys ever go through calipers?

Two years ago I replaced both fronts because the seals were gone and I didn't want to mess with that--I don't have a good track record with replacing seals and having things actually seal again. The other day I thought the brakes seemed hot all the time and discovered the driver's side was creating a lot of drag. I pulled the wheel off and found two of the pistons were seized. I replaced that one and double-checked the passenger side and found the same thing, it just wasn't as noticeable because they weren't stuck out enough to create as much drag.

Advance warrantied them no problem and I've got two new ones now. Just don't understand how I burned through both front ones in two years.

My gas mileage did seem to improve I thought it was just all the mountains I drive over every day now making it a little lower than usual, but I bet those calipers were sticky for a while and I just didn't notice until they got bad enough to drag significantly.

 

Yea aftermarket calipers seem to only last 1-2 years. Always the bottom piston seems to seize, even with new fluid. Guess all the moisture/shit probably ends up low in the system.

 

Advance isn't known for the highest quality. Nothing wrong with aftermarket, but I'd go with Napa or similar quality product from Rockauto.

I bled a lot of old fluid out this time because I've always thought the brakes on this truck were spongy so I wanted to be sure there was no air in the lines. At this point there can't possibly be much old fluid left in the system.

 

Yeah, I usually stick with NAPA. I think when I did them the first time I didn't want to wait on any new ones so I went with who had them in stock while I had it apart.

This time I took advantage of the warranty on them so I didn't have to buy two new ones again.

 

I forked up and went with oem with a full fluid flush. Paired with oem rotors and hawk hps pads. The truck stops mint!

Morning all! Monday already... Ugh.
When you only get one day off and you spend the whole day working around the house, the weekend really flies right by.

Pretty psyched about my new pressure washer, though. Does an awesome job; cleaning the back deck only took me about two hours and it's a lot cleaner than when I scrub it by hand.




It even pulled up most of the roofing tar stain that I've been working on since we moved in!
