Is this an active members truck? Curious about the N2O strut quality. From the youtube video of this truck seems like he has had it installed for awhile now.

This is my sons truck. I just borrowed it to hit the park for a run yesterday and I love the ride! I also took it for some low key trail riding and I am actually waiting for a black regular cab to become available because I want to do the same build with the RC 6" strut lift. Probably going to add Brown's 1.5" body lift and I am thinking retro decals too, different style to fit a Tacoma, dacals from the early 80's SR5 truck.

When we installed the Rough Country 6" lift we were able to mount the 16X8 Raceline Raptor wheels with 4.5" back spacing with 33X12.5R16 MTX P3's. My son would have preferred a 16" wheel but already had the 17's because RC had 17's for specs.

I have been wondering if 16in wheels would work nice to know now

The 4" and 6" RC lift is the same, only difference is the size of the front spacer. The drop Brackets only drop the lower control arms 3.5". RC offers the best clearance of any drop bracket lift, but running it at 6 "s will have the same geometry as a stock truck with a 2.5" lift. Although castor is a little better because of the new knuckles/ spindles.

Because it only lowers the front LCA's 3.5" I was able to not cut all the way through the crossmember like you have to with every other kit, or like what is suggested in the RC instructions.

6" is about max you'll get out of the RC kit.

I have pics in my thread of how I boxed and notched the factory crossmember.

Nice build thread, very informative I want 4in kit with my coilovers set around 1.5 or 2 inches, nice to see 16s fit with wheel spacers

That pic I have 295/75/16's with 1.25" wheel spacers. They are e-rated and rode really rough and we're really heavy.

I've since switched to c-rated 315's (35s) they ride much better, and I think they are lighter.

Not yet, I still need to get 220 in the new garage so I can weld the plate on.

They do rub when fully turned, but only when flexing. Normal driving isn't an issue. The RC drop brackets move the LCA 1/4" forwards, doesn't sound like a lot, but at full steer, not flexed, I have about 1/4" of clearance

20171027_172100.jpg I have the 6" tuff country lift. Problem is the way the sway bar links atach to the knuckle, they rub the inside of the tire at full lock even with the 4.5 bs wheels that I have, and a 1" spacer with only 285's. The links connect low on the knuckle then go up and connect the sway bar. Most othe knuckles I have seen including rough country connect high on the knuckle then aim down to connect with the sway bar. I am thinking I should be able to swap out the knuckles with a set from rough countries lift and take care of the problem. Any thoughts on my little plan?

Are new UCA needed for the 4 or 6in RC lift? Still deciding between that setup and just changing the shocks vs just going with a OME lift or 5100 lift package from headstrong.
