21.4G in the truck at first click (this figure assumes truck FLV sensor and fuel pump gauge are accurate)

    FLV (fuel level) averages:

    18.4G at F line (86%)
    14.7G at 3/4 line (68.7%)
    10.8G at 1/2 line (50.5%)
    6.7G at 1/4 line (31.3%)
    3.1G at the light (14.5%)
X.XG at E line (X.X%) no reliable data for this yet

I had the presence of mind to center my eyes over the analog gauge, FWIW.

This was one tank on 91 octane ethanol free Wal-Mart gas. I only use ethanol free and usually 87 but this Wal-Mart only had premium ethanol free. I refilled 18.224 gallons. Hand calculated at 23.425.

So I've been driving my truck on the same route for over a year and have been experimenting with rpm and it seems like if I keep it under 2500rpm I get good mpg. If I go just 100 rpm higher at 2600rpm my mpg drops by like 3 mpg. My only guess is possibly the Atkins cycle kicks out above 2500rpm just a complete guess but it definitely makes a huge difference by only going 100rpm higher. The photo attached is doing just under 70mph and about 2400rpm. I did the same route in identical conditions same 87 octane fuel but at like 2600rpm and got like 17mpg.IMG_4180.jpg

On my third fill up at 800 miles on the truck(2017 OR Double Cab Auto.). Hand calculated was 20.83. Used Citgo premium 93 ethanol free on slowest setting until first click. I live in Western NC so the terrain is mountainous.

My tank Average has been 19-20mpg. It dipped a few mpgs after I installed 265-75-16 Wildpeak tires. I get the biggest dip in mpgs from using cruise control though. Before changing tires I was getting 22-23 if I didn't use cruise control.

Well I clearly get much better mileage on the west coast at low elevations than I do in Colorado Springs. Getting 23-24 average on full tanks

I mentioned on an earlier msg that I just returned from a trip from Irvine Ca to Salt Lake City......My speed was around 67-72mph, AC on, and outside temp ranging from 93 degrees to 104 degrees. Below are pictures of the ODO, info center and fifteen minute updates.....as I said, I don't think going 20 to 30 miles gives a true representation of highway or city mileage...So here is what I got going to Salk Lake:

    IMG_1919.jpg IMG_1942.jpg IMG_1938.jpg

There was one time that over a 15 min period I got ~30mpg

    IMG_2085.jpg

If I had not stopped for a wife bio break. I guess I might have been able to get over 500 miles from that tank of gas.....

My gas stops were as follows:

    Start:
    Irvine: fill up with Costco
    Primm: 245.8 miles 10.0 gal 24.5 mpg
Cedar City: 213.4 miles 9.0 gal 23.5 mpg
Layton Utah: 469.0 miles 16.6 gal 28.6 mpg
Layton Utah: 111.2 miles 4.28 gal 25.9 mpg
Cedar City Ut: 273.5 miles 10.0 gal 27.3 mpg
St George Ut: 199.9 miles 8.1 gal 24.7 mpg
Henderson Nv: 176.9 miles 7.9 gal 22.4 mpg
Irvine Ca: 281.9 miles 10.5 gal 26.8 mpg

I have, upon return home, now have 15,641 miles and will make the unhappy trip to the dealer on Wednesday for my 15k service and the review of the rear end leak since my vin is on the Toyota list...Then I will play the waiting game.....If I have to give her up, I will demand a truck in it place.

The truck rode very good and I was averaging around 72 mph and the cruise control on...There were time when the smallest upgrade change made it down shift to 5th, and sometimes to 4th....On a few occasions, it would jump down to 4th....then at times, with the same grade change, it would not downshift.....It got to be annoying but I guess it was designed to do that....all in all though, my Taco performed very well and I love driving it....I have heard there is a 3rd rev for the transmission and hopefully they will do that during the 15k...Does anyone happen to have the rev 3 notice yet that they can share with me?

Thanks and hope this sheds some light on the mpg issue

So this just happened its the best I've ever seen, thanks to a light foot and a wicked tail wind . Thats roughly 24 mpg . I am impressed for a change . Usually I don't see much better than 12.5 l/100km and average around 14-15 20170724_104412.jpg

mostly good. Just minor stuff so far. A cracked 3rd brake light windshield washer sprayers that were hitting the hood and the rear diff howl. I guess the most annoying thing is the hood vibrating but engine wise it's run great and I've not been affected by any of the recalls.
