Hey everyone. Finally joined after reading the threads for the past 6 months.

Got my 2014 TRD Sport doublecab long bed a little less than a year ago. The only thing I have done to it is wheels and tires (275/70/16 KO2s). I have been researching a suspension system for months and finally have zeroed in on the Fox Level 3 kit from @HeadStrong Off-Road (Fox 2.5 Factory with resi extended length, Camburg UCAs, Fox 2.0 extended rear shocks w/ resi and the others standars. but have a few questions before I pull the trigger.

    1. Does the coilover compressor adjuster make a big difference with this kit. I ask because I will be taking a long roadtrip to costa rica with this truck soon and what to be able to soften the ride at times if possible.

    2. I want the truck to be level so what kind of Leaf Pack should I get. I will be putting a snugtop rebel shell on this weekend and want the truck to sit level above all else. Should i go with light or heavy dakars?

Thats it. I am sure I sound like an idiot multiple times but want to get some input before I pull the trigger.

Did anyone ever answer your question I'm looking at the stage 2 vs stage three on my loaded down 3rd Gen I'm going with the dakars heavy leaf but other than that I have the same questions whether I should get the adjuster and the extenddd travel.

Never received a response, but my buddy who has the adjusters on his truck said it worth the extra money. I'm set on the heavy duty dakars and am going to remove the 3rd leaf if its too high in the back.

I'm trying to decide between a level 2, 3 or 4 and would love to hear more on this. I'm only looking for a modest 0.5-1" lift and would like to hear more about they ride differences between the levels - is it duty or comfort? And when are UCA's really needed? And what are the differences between the 3 UCA's offered at HeadStrong? I'm looking for the sweet spot in terms of ride quality and price...

TOTAL CHAOS 3.5 LT RACE 18'S TE37 PROGRESSIVE
1)I'm only looking for a modest 0.5-1" lift (They come set at 1 inch lift from Fox)
2)And when are UCA's really needed? (Needed if you get extended travel but in general if you have the extra funds you should upgrade anyways)
3)And what are the differences between the 3 UCA's offered at HeadStrong? (Can't go wrong with either Total Chaos or Camburg, I went with Total Chaos due to price)
4)I'm looking for the sweet spot in terms of ride quality and price (Worth getting the DSC because you definitely feel a difference from stiff on the street to soft on the trails)

Thanks for this! Very helpful. This thread was also helpful in explaining the improvements of UCA replacement: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...driving-report-with-light-racing-ucas.158795/

What's the DSC? Is that compression adjustment?

Anyone have thoughts on the real world ride differences between Level 2, 3 and 4 kits?

Dual Speed Compression adjusters, you can adjust both high and low speed compression with the turn of a knob.

2 is good for anyone's truck that hits dirt.

3 is good for anyone who hits dirt, and sometimes hits it fast for extended periods of time

4 if you have to ask, you don't need it. Haha

I've got equivalent to a 3 with compression adjusters. I do use them. For me they do make a difference. I switch between fast corrugated roads to slow rolling 4x4 trails. Both use different setting.

I went with 2.5" FOX no reservoirs, Camburg UCA and 2.0 no reservoir rear. The only thing I regret is not having any way to adjust the rear shocks going between daily load and fully loaded for fun.

I have the DSC adjuster and they are good for making it softer or stiffer when you need to. Still have to get the valving right but it's nice to have the adjustment.

If you are adding weight it would be hard to beat the dakar leaf pack... time proven and great with some extra weight.

How do I achieve having a 3 inch lift with a level 2 kit and a soft ride while not on the dirt?
