Would you rather take the time to search through the internet to find the owners manaul, then go deep through the majority of the manual to find what you're looking for, or just go to a website where there's knowledgeable, and "friendly" people to help with your problem? It's like asking the teacher how to do the math problem instead of looking through the whole book to figure it out

No parking brake required in the 3rd Gen M/T, just hafta be stopped to turn it all "off".

You guys need to see these documentaries on the future of mankind. This is where the new generation is taking us. And note the Tacoma doesn't survive or exist in the future of mankind.

Quoting one of my daughters favorite movies. "If your going hard enough left. You will find yourself turning right" That's when the traction control kicks in and cuts the gas. Just when it's about to get fun.

Hey, no offense but I’m one of those old guys. 62. Lots of off-road experience (many years ago) but for the life of me I didn’t find the defeat info in the manual. I’m going to go try it and I sure appreciate the help! I’m in Pismo Beach and any stability control destroys a good sand hill climb. I trust this info applies to a third gen TRD 4x4 Sport. Getting back into wheeling after a lot of years of asphalt track time.

    No. Just stop and hold.

I did have to search for it / re-read the OM since I was used to a quick push. I do like that it is multi-functional with a quick push turning on the E-diff. I would have preferred it if the TCS off and E-diff functions were reversed. No real big deal though.

Well I’ll be darned, it worked. Worse yet, it works the same way as the Audi S4 and the ‘00 MCoupe. Doh! I am getting old! If any of you wanna come play in the sand.... I’m in Pismo, let me know. Thanks for the help. Now, how do I get this thing out of Park.....

And just for a follow up on the “check the archives” comments. We had a guy on an Audi track forum complaining about how dead the forum was. I asked a question that I easily could have checked the archives but chose the quick easy question route to start a new thread.
The same guy ridiculed me up one side and down the other for not checking the archives.
His next post.... this forum is dead.
    Duh.
None of us is as smart as all of us and I appreciate the banter from my stupid questions. After all, I am old and easily entertained....

It's more of a safety concern. Is he able to read the one way sign or is he going to go head on into traffic. And he isn't much older then I am.

Soooo maybe we should grab the pitchforks and the torches? Im certain it is more like a close family member could probably read it if he wanted to but asked his family for a little advice and somehow some old jokes started because of a little age. But who knows if people are offended maybe we should take this straight to kim and kanye west to get they're point of viewo_O
