Damn that's really low! Thanks for the info!
Best I could get from Navy Fed (got my home loan from them at very low rate) was 2.14% for 60 mo and 2.44% for 72 mo.

The salesman left me a voicemail today saying it's the end of the month and hopes we can come to an agreement to get me into the vehicle... Let the games continue!

Fitting first post on TW. I just picked up my taco yesterday.

    17 TRD OR Quicksand
    DCSB
    Tow Package
    JBL
All Weather Mats / Door Sills.
Dealer Trade to get the vehicle

MSRP 39,778. I got it for 36,500 before TTL.

I started by throwing a wide net to every major dealer I could find within a 2-3 hr drive in early July. I got a pretty wide array of prices, but most were quoting me what I could already find on their website. It was slow going until the middle of the month when one dealer I was talking to gave me a substantial price discount in addition to offering to find the vehicle in the color I wanted .

That was the leverage I needed to get the other local dealers to be more aggressive in pricing (previously they'd knock $50 - $100 off their quotes), though I had one bow out at 38k.

In the end I had an offer of 36,300 before TTL but it was only for an in stock truck which was inferno or silver. Inferno was my second choice color, but I really wanted Quicksand and couldn't see doing over 35,900 for Inferno. He came back saying he found a Quicksand one and would trade for it, but I'd have to pay a $400 dealer transfer fee as it was 100mi away and they had to pay couriers to drive it up and drive the trade back blah blah. Ended up splitting the difference to hit 36.5

No trade in, chunk of cash down and financed the rest 2.44% @ 60mo.

I will add, had I wanted to, I'm pretty sure I could have taken that offer back to the other dealer and gotten an even better price (though maybe not in the Quicksand), but the dealership I worked with were decent folks, spent a ton of time with me, including four normal and one very long extended test drive to make sure I was getting the exact truck I wanted. In the end it was worth a couple hundred bucks more to me to get the color I wanted, and not grind them as hard as I wanted. I felt like I got a good deal, they still made money (I doubt I ate their entire holdback, plus I'm sure they were trying for sales goals) everyone wins.

Plus I have the theory that had I bled them to save every last dollar, I'm sure they'd find ways to make it back on maintenance during the 2yr toyota care timeline.

Just picked mine up Saturday in Danbury, Connecticut. Drove there from northern New Jersey as they had the only one in like 100 miles that I was looking for.
    17 TRD OR Quicksand
    DCSB
    Tow Package
    Premium/Tech Package
    Hard Tri-Fold Tonneau Cover
    Roof Rack
    Bed Extender
MSRP 40,5**. Paid 37,250 before TTL

Loving the truck so far and my first truck I've ever had. Came over from the hot-hatch segment with a Focus ST and Civic Si.

My friend is looking to buy a Tacoma and went to several dealerships in the Los Angeles area and he said they were still asking over MSRP for the trucks. The best offer he could get was $1500 off MSRP. Can't believe that after being out for two years that it's still hard to get a good discount (well, in the Southern CA area).

Prior military, USAA insurance. Saved me thousands and there is zero negotiating. Had 3 dealers calling me wanting my business. If you have USAA call them up.

    Thanks everyone for the input!
I got off the phone with the salesman last night and they were sticking hard at $38,500 out the door price. I mentioned that I was still active duty and despite what it says on Toyota's site about the military rebate being only $500 and not available in the state of North Carolina, he told me he could do a $1000 military discount if I finance though South East Toyota. This puts me at $37,500 out the door for a DCLB Off Road w/ premium and tech package. Super happy with the price! It's the set up I wanted in the color I wanted!! (Super White) Invoice pricing that I put together from info on this forum put the price of my configuration at $36,471 + 3% NC state tax = $37,565 so I am happy at driving away at $37,500 :D
Going to pick it up today after work!!! Will upload some pictures and get a shot of the cost break down before tax title and plates.

Took a tip from this thread and went through the Costco program and Manhattan Beach Toyota. Got my TRD OR with JBL for 50 bucks below invoice with no haggling. Prices are fixed and what you see is what you get. Tax in CA and limited stock really killed the deal for me, though, and I ended up at about 42K out the door with a few accessories I didn't want. Michael Sperber the salesman and Frank Tindall the finance director really went above and beyond. Michael traded another dealership to get me the exact package I wanted and Frank helped me deal with Chase Auto Finance, which was a huge pain. I also did my due diligence and called/visited about 15 SoCal dealerships and these guys beat my next lowest offer by at least $550. I highly recommend going this route for anyone looking to buy a Taco in SoCal.

Pulled the trigger today. Negotiated like crazy last two weeks and basically had a dealer go low from the beginning and handle things professionally all the way. We agreed on a price last Friday and I went to pick up today. I was in an out in an hour. Awesome.

Oddly enough this dealer brought the truck in from one of the dealers I was negotiating with elsewhere that bowed out around 32k

    MSRP: 34,932
    Price: 31,165 9%off
    -College Grad Rebate: $750
    =30,415

    OTD Price: $32,590

    Very satisfied, love the truck.

Still digging for information on the fact that the truck did not come with stock wheels. They're a matte black web looking design. I love em personally. I had anticipated having to change them out from the silver stock ones they usually come with but this truck came with these. There was no mention of them throughout the process or in my meeting today and they are not listed as an additional add on to the exterior of the truck on the window sticker. Seems weird that I got them without the dealer trying to uptick the price but none the less I'm fired up.

    Will have pictures up eventually.

That's why I flew up there and drove it back, used my airline miles to get there. Everyone down here in Orange County wanted $38k to $40k for the same truck.

I'm looking at a TRD Offroad 4x4 short bed w/tow package. Dealer said MSRP is $37,680 and is willing to do $2000 off. I'm in San Diego.

    What do you guys think?

At Freeman in Santa Rosa I am thinking I was quoted about 33500-34000 for a similar priced Offroad. Check out their website and find something similar and request the E-price. They are a volume dealer and have been some of the best prices.
