I think you guys really shouldn't be forced to buy a new sensor. I'd be making several complaints to the dealership instead.

Something similar happened in the Infiniti community. A widespread serpentine belt issue. The dealerships at first denied it existed. Then said it only exists on a few select cars.

Only after customers showed them the multitude of online information and complaints from others did Infiniti finally man up and say yes there is a problem and put a TSB out on all cars from xx to yy date

Makes my head hurt too. I will just wait on the data logger Matt's working on. Then his head can hurt.

I agree, but my dealer is *2 WEEKS* out on service appointments. Short of walking in and kidnapping one of their techs to go for a ride, I don't have a prayer of having a properly running truck in any less than a month and a bunch of my time wasted. I'm open to suggestions, but if a $100 sensor and 20 minutes fixes it, i'll do it.

I would gladly walk in with my TIS data and slap it on someones desk if I didn't think they would look at me like I had 3 heads. Seriously though, should I just go in with some pretty graphs and tell them to fix it?

@OVTune, I know you're busy but any idea when you'll be able to send my alpha tune? I emailed my stock ecu and tranny file this past Saturday, and Taco is ready with full tank of 93 octane. And any update on an 87 tune? Thanks.

I plan to finish everything pending tonight

I have an idea, but we need someone with this problem and a truck on the recall list, with techstream.
Just to solidify your argument you could compare what a truck with the known issue is doing on ignition

Anyone near me in CT, MA, or RI on the recall list and have the symptoms? We can make this happen.

At this point for anyone with the stumble/stuttering it probably would be best to replace the CPS and count it out. With such a vital sensor being problematic especially running a tune with mods datalogs will never be trustworthy.

I disagree. The logs are the logs, exactly what the engine is doing. The ECU controls the engine in response to the data it gets from all of its sensors. If a sensor is wonky, the data will be wonky just as mine is. It may not pin point the problem, but it indicates there is one. Timing isn't measured, it is calculated. For timing to be varying that much, one of the inputs to the equation has to be changing. At least that's the way I see it. I will be ordering a sensor anyway and can compare before and after.

Lots of babble in here but hardly any reviews. Seems like a lot of these units shipped. What is the consensus on towing improvements?

I think that's what I am going to do. My truck was built 10/16 but not on the recall. Hell it's only money. What's 100 more dollars at this point.

I towed my bass boat camping this last weekend. Got about 15/16 mpg. I can't say the tune made the acelleration better but hills were not as challenging. I don't feel it's right to put a legitimate write up until atleast 1.02.

Im just stating according to your logs timing is all over the place approximately where folks are feeling the stumble. The CPS is a known issue. Why not just replace and take that sensor out of the equation. I have an early production tacoma and at this point have no stumble. My timing is for the most part linear, so far. I assure you if I feel any stutter or stumble im replacing the CPS.

I like where you're going with this. If I had access to a fancy diagnostic tool, I'd also back probe the CKP connector and scope the output.
