Some folks on here acting like they don't do cosmetic mods, but be changing their grilles and getting aftermarket wheels.

Scoops are for functional components. On the Hilux it's for the intercooler, same deal with the subarus, the scoop is for the intercooler. If the scoop is not feeding something functional, it's all posing.

I just don't really understand that mindset. Aesthetics isn't posing.

I recently switched to a scoop. I've always wanted it since my dad had a TRD Sport DCSB, but he sold his Tacoma before I got mine.

The 1st thing I noticed with the scoop was it kinda blocks your view a bit in the front. I got used to it quick though. I did get glare once from it that I can remember, I don't notice it now or it's never happened again. I wear pretty good sunglasses that I use at work 40+hours a week on the ocean. I only spent $150 on the hood and painted it myself.

Honestly I prefer function more than form, but the way my truck looks now is what I envisioned years back even before I bought my Tacoma.

I've always told people to build their car/truck anyway they want and don't listen to people. I can respect that even if I don't agree with it or why it's modded.

I got the Ridgid 10" light bar in my scoop. Works great. Got the bracket and light from C4Fab,
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/hood-scoop-led-lightbar-bracket-by-c4fab.353700/

I priced his kit; he actually sells the lights very competitively priced and his own manufactured brackets were reasonable as well.

I have not experienced the glare; might be influenced by driver's height.

One negative thing for me ... contributed by my truck being parked outside - the paint on the plastic section in front of the scoop has started to fade, along with some of the color-matched fender flares.

However, I don't regret getting the scoop.
