Okay. Just the "light" spray and not "full blast"? Would full blast damage the rad?

Do a light spray, with one of the lower pressure nozzles. Don't stand too close, also might help to let some bug and tar remover sit on it for a minute first

Don't know how to clean it up best, but to prevent it from happening in the future, id get some either aluminum or fiberglass window screen and cut a piece to size to go over the radiator

something similar to this works great.

edited to add, I can get pics of how mine looks later if you'd like just let me know

Also sorry I picked the damn roll on lowes.com that is 1200 inches long so its like a hundred bucks. A small roll of this can be had for 10-15 bucks or less

Just spray a bunch of all purpose cleaner on it. Let it dwell for 3-5 minutes outta the sun. Then hit it with a pressure washer from 3 feet away. For what remains, use a microfiber and car wash soap.

As far as worrying about water... imagine driving through a hard rain for an hour. If that doesnt hurt your radiator, the hose spray won't either. Now, don't put the pressure washer 3" away and blast it for 20 mins. Just sorta do what the weather does.

Soak the area with soapy water for a bit.
