Some people amaze the hell out of me! Me and @JohnBtheZombie we're out for a two day trip and came across this ding dong in his FWD Nissan Puke stuck on a blue diamond trail. He said he had been high centered and stuck for 2 hours. Pretty much in tears when we got there, trying to get reception to call 911. He packed up for a picnic at Deep Creek but got way lost on a fire road. I have no clue how he got this far into the trail but we helped out.

He was sideways on the trail when we showed up. I deployed the winch and me and John pulled him to a safe zone! There were 2 good climbs that I was not going to be able to pull the dead weight with the minimal mods on my truck but we left him and his family at the trail head of Deep Creek and the fire road. I offered water and fuel especially since they had a new born with them on a 100*+ day!

I left them there since we had seen a dirt lot on the other side on that trail head were hikers go back and forth going to Deep Creek.

Once I got to cell range I called 911 and they patched us into Forest Services. I have them the fire road location and lay/long.

I later found out even though we told him to stay put he tried going a different route.

Within 10 minutes we saw a small patrol plane circling near us. I didn't get a call back from 911.

Since me and John were loaded down with camping gear and our dogs, I even offered to transfer my gear to Johns truck and get them to the street. For what ever reason the guy insisted I needed to tow him out and was even giving me trail advice.

We left him there, ungreatful SOB! No thank you for helping, nothing.

Moral of the story get a map and partner up! Don't be stupid and most of all 4wd! I'm sure a descent 2wd could do it but it's easy to go down a trail than back up it!!! Here's some pix!

I want to thank @cbioffroad @Pelfreybilt and @smittybilt for making some great products!!!!

People can sometimes be so ungrateful for help, but its possible this family was in shock and dehydrated.

I still applaud you for doing what you can to help them out. Just think, you probably saved that kids life.

First of all, the trail doesn't look that bad. But camera often don't capture the true nature of the incline. But I don't see how he got stuck. He must have done something real stupid! And I would be SOOOOO grateful for any type of help if I were him.
