I am going down to the SD meet this week. I have an empty seat if anyone wants to roll. They are meeting at a Brewski's which has pinball and old arcade games including Contra.

I don't know if you've ever heard of it, but it uses a "DOS shell" called "DOSBOX" to play those type of games. You just download, install the game, goto the folder that it was "extracted to", and click on the "Start ...".

You do have to know how to "EXIT" the game sometimes if your not familiar with these older type of games without a "GUI" interface!!! LOL!!! I'm very familiar with DOS command line interfaces so not too hard for me.

But yeah, sometimes the older games are pretty damn cool to play!!!:fistbump::bowdown:

Finally, there are certain games that it helps to download the game manual as there are certain commands, maps, etc that you may need in order to play the game and/or even complete the game!!!

download a game and enjoy!!!:fistbump::cheers::headbang::woot::yay:

Covered in stickers and chrome stick-ons for extra horse torques and foot powers. Icon sticker gets me tons of travel, dozens of milimeters.
"Moving" like TARGET, not like materiale. One must duck when outnumbered!
God no. It's even hotter than here! Fun but definitely not a place to live.

Yeah, I have NOTHING when it comes to a REAL command line interface (i.e. UNIX/LINUX). I am familiar with them though as that is what I had to mainly use in school (i.e. in this case UNIX). Regarding LINUX, I was building a "LINUX Box" back in the day, but just never completed it and that is how I am somewhat familiar with LINUX. I was challenging myself on only using old components as much as possible (i.e. 386 MotherBoard, I/O interfaces, etc), but that was almost 15yrs ago now and I haven't touched/dealt with it since then.

MS DOS (i.e. "I" started with MS DOS v5.0... around '90 or '91), I learned pretty much on my own and, as you most likely already know, there really isn't much to it!!! I'm losing touch even with that nowadays.

Finally, you most likely know this, I used to browse the web using "linx", if I remember correctly that's what it was called? THAT was a very interesting thing to do. LOL, a co-worker back then didn't want to listen to me about how the web really looked, etc etc etc and I was like, "okay man, whatever YOU THINK you know...???" LOL!!! But yeah, pretty interesting for sure. Just before completing school, X-Windows was just emerging and/or had been out for roughly a year or just over a year by the time they were redoing the computer lab and it made things easier to access I must admit when it came to having to do certain assignments, but, the funny thing was, we still had to ultimately use some sort of command line interface, LMAO!!! Just like now, it makes you wonder why MS still has "command prompt"... hmmmmmmmmm???!!!

I still have my 8088 w/ 8087 co-processor with 640k memory running DOS 3.30 that I built buying parts here and there from a electronics surplus store. Anyways, I'm trying to teach myself Assembly Code because, believe it or not, they STILL work with assembly code because people just don't realize that your "higher lang programs" (i.e. C++, JAVA, etc) just won't cut it for certain things, but the kids these days, just don't get it yet???!!!

Definitely an interesting subject to talk about the next time I see you Denny!!!:fistbump::bowdown:
