He installed it, but I think he is going back to DMZ which I believe should be getting installed this weekend. I wanted to go with Camburg's bolt on rear for mine, but have heard from a shop perspective it would save more time to just cut and weld on the DMZ kit. I havnt heard any complaints with the DMZ set up though either.

Yea man I have been in the LT game for a little bit. Between me and some others we got a decent gauge of how some of the sua kits work to a degree. Considering having to drill out all the stuff off of the frame to just bolt on the burg kit seems a little intense compared to just cutting stuff off. I plan to get my kit weld d so I won't ha w to check bolt tolerances frequently so dmz is my go to for the rear which will be getting completed sometime early next year. Somehow dirties took precedence in my build.

What are you doing for the front? Archive doesn't make an LT rear. DMZ has a really nice rear kit while Giant and Camburg has bolt on versions.

I guess it's not a full blown LT, but a much improved rear suspension over stock. I'm not going super fast and racing in the sand (live in Hawaii). I have a total chaos +2 up front. I plan to run a camper and hi-clearance rear with swingout in the future, so being able to carry some load is important for me. Archive has shock relocation towers to fit 14" travel shocks which I plan to go with.

Ah ok, the 14 inch shock relocation def is worth setting up then. I assume you would stay SOA in the rear instead of going SUA right? I have a TC mid travel rear SUA with relocated 12s and its alright, but def aint shit compared to my 3.5 up front.

I want to go SUA. In my mind, gaining up travel will help absorb bumps and make for a better ride. In terms of wheeling, I know you'd want longer droop to maintain contact and have traction so I think SUA with the right shocks and setup could be a good medium for both.

Also what makes camburg's setup a LT and not archives? Archive is not a kit, but you can piece together the SUA, the new hangers and shackles, and deaver springs. They both are SUA and use new hangers. Just genuinely curious.

Naw man, that's what makes your kit LT and mine still mid travel. MY TC sua kit is a straight bolt on spring as the stock hanger locations are utilized in it. Because of this, the geo of the springs can only cycle effectively up to 12 inches. If you want more travel, then you have to widen the distance between the hanger points that the springs attach at to cycle bigger. LT is generally 16 inches in travel, but can be 14. Either of these in the standard sua set up require relocation of both the front and rear hangers. IM sure these companies would have loved to not relocate the hangers if they didn't need to to get the travel numbers and proper droop like your giant kit does in the bolt on process right?

I do agree that if you are 2+, a decent sua can be what you need. I would bet if you did go with a full blown LT rear like Erok has then you might not find the front to be as nice and squishy as it appears now as the rear might feel nicer.

Im not too familiar with archives stuff as when I saw it it seemed to the LT guys as just a stock replacement shackle hanger for the rear that can be relocated to be further. This can be advantageous for more travel numbers by widening the gap between hangers, but generally the LT kits widen both the front and rear equally to keep the spring in balance with the axle location so I am still a little puzzled with his set up with this.

Camburg, Giant, and DMZ all offer either direct bolt on hangers that extend out further from stock dimensions or in the DMZ's case, new hangers that have to be welded on. Currently, DMZ is designing a bolt on version of his kit as he has had so many requests for it. To make it simple, a true LT sua spring will be too wide to fit in the stock hanger locations. I don't follow archive that much, but if you have a link to some LT rear offering I would be curious to see exactly what they would be trying to achieve as from what I understand they havnt considered trying to make a true long travel kit yet for the rear.

Oh gotya...I was wondering where you were going with your verbage! Yea I think TC uses the "long travel" element in the 2+ product description to make it appeasing from a sales perspective. Many folks will state that its a long travel kit, but a 3.5 is generally described as a "true long travel" kit as the 2+ is more of a mid travel kit while stock length is well...stock.

I say this as originally I had all intentions of going with a 2+, but I always like hauling ass so my buddies talked me into the 3.5 since speed is more of a component for me.
