I went from an 08 5.7 Tundra with lance 825 and pulling a boat to this setup.

06 Tacoma 4.0 DCLB and new trailer. It's 3000lbs empty and can sleep 6-8 people depending on size. Huge, compared to the truck camper!

    Kinda backwards, but I'm excited.

Trailer comes with E2 equalizer hitch, got a prodigy 2 hooked up, and a new Hayden trans cooler on the way. Will see how it does and probably ad airbags in the future.

Very nice. Should be doable with your Tacoma. I think 3500 lbs is a good cutoff before you go to full size. You should be able to do it just fine with.

That's what I figured, I like the safety buffer. Coming from a truck camper, this seems huge so I didn't feel the need to push the envelope.

Yep, exactly. I just go at a nice pace on the interstate, ~65 mph or so and my MPG isn't too bad.

I did the same thing as you did. Pulled boats and popup campers with an F-150 for 17 years. Bought a 2015 DCLB and 3500 trailer. Happy camping.

I have an Apex Nano I tow with my 3rd gen. Empty wt is 3350, with all my stuff I am still under 4k. I can run with the cruise on at 60 mph and still pull 12.5 mpg. Tows like a dream.
