How do you like the four cylinder paired with the 5-speed manual?

I live in San Diego and plan to buy the 2017 version of your truck in white also. Looks great! How do you feel about the power driving around in Southern California traffic, and up hills? Is it sufficient for merging onto the freeway when traffic is moving fast? Do hills slow you down a lot? Can you compare it to another vehicle? Thanks

It is sufficient. You aren't going to be going anywhere fast, but it takes me everywhere I need to go. On the streets it has enough power. On long, steep grades sometimes you have to downshift early and drive at 3500 RPM but it keeps up with traffic no problem.

    Yes.

Only really long highway speed hills. For example going up the 5 near Gorman is pretty brutal and the truck struggles to stay in 4th gear.
I drive to big bear regularly, for mountain road driving it is perfectly fine.

Not really. I had a 2012 single cab 4cylinder auto, this truck is better than that was.
Also had a Subaru forester XT (Wrx engine) which hauled ass. This truck is not anything like that lol.

Ive got friends with 2nd and 3rd gen 6 cylinder trucks that I regularly go on trips with, the 4 cylinder has never had trouble keeping up on road, or off road.

Yeah got it in long beach. Not a great deal, but below the dealer asking price.

They had it on the lot. When i found it i went immediately to the dealer, test drove and purchased. There were three other people on the lot trying to purchase it aswell.
