I have a 2013 TRD OR supercharged with a aFe CAI, TRD exhaust, 265/75R16 BFG T/A KO2 e-rated 10 ply tires and a 2" lift. I drive about 1/4 of my commute off road in 4H, up and down a mountain road that really makes having a 4x4 truck mandatory. I usually keep it in 2nd gear or L to down shift. The rest of the commute is on a highway with max speed around 75 mph. My gas mileage per tank is around 14 mpg. Driving conservatively I can get around 300 miles per 21 gallon tank (300/21= 14.2 mpg). Driving aggressively I will do about 290 miles per tank (290/21= 13.8 mpg). A/C is definitely blasting on high in this 100+ degree summer in NorCal!

Are you actually filling 21 gallons each time?? I find it hard to believe. You'd have to almost suck the tank dry every time you fill up. Next time you fill up, note how many gallons you put in. Then divide your miles driven by actual gallons used. You're probably closer to 15mpg....

Do you measure your gas when you fill up?
When I fill my tank its usually roughly 16-18 gallons till it hits the E light.

I checked these figures and they are accurate...

    ''

Here are my latest figures after a half tank fill up today:

    Full to 3/4--------= 5.1* gallons
    3/4 to 1/2------- = 4.0* gallons (9.1 total)
    1/2 to 1/4------- = 4.2* gallons (13.3 total)
    1/4 to E-Light----= 3.5* gallons (16.8 total)
    E-Light to E Line-= 1.7 gallons (18.5 total)
    E Line to Empty--= 2.5 gallons (21.0 total)

    * measured fuel amounts, not estimated

Oh, and nothing bad will happen if you don't get gas until you are on E... there is still 2.5 gallons in reserve below the E line. I have got gas many times on E in all three of my Tacomas over the past 10 years... Never any fuel problems! ''

15 mpg sounds better than 14 mpg! Thanks for the more accurate calculations, dudes.

My 2008 5sp 4x4 4 banger gets me between 19 and 21MPG. Most of my driving is around the western Finger Lakes area, so tons of hills. I'm surprised I get that good mileage with all the hills

2010 DCLB with topper 2.5 lift V6 in town is best at 17-18 highway is worse also driving 85mph 14-17 on average have gotten 19 with a tail wind. But strange one went to Idaho and filled up in Stanley with 85 octane (was an accident) and I got 21 with pulling hills and driving 80 through the flats doesn't make any sense to me how that worked? Yes double checked my math but best tank through the mountains with lower octane
Still even at 14 mph my worst tank is better than my Tundra was at its best!!

My 2015 2.7L got about 19 City and 24 highway when I bought it, but dropped to about 22.5 highway when I upgraded to 245/75/16 all terrains.

Still pretty consistent with 18-19 City.

2015, 2 wheel drive, 2.7 2TR-FE, 4 speed auto, OEM Dunlops inflated to 35psi all around.

I use Top Tier 87 octane fuel, and drive for fuel economy. My truck just turned 11K miles and has since new delivered 26 MPG aggregate. A little less in the winter, a little more in the summer.

Half my driving is around a small town, half involves 2 to 5 hour round trips on 55 MPH 2 lane country roads. Very little, but some, freeway driving.

This MPG is way above book, but it can be done if you take your foot outta the firewall.

05' TRD sport 4.0 Auto DCLB gets about 19-20 religiously. We have a lot of stop and go interstate traffic here so I know with some wide open roads it would do much better.

Have used fuelly.com for 4 years - over 19,000 miles. Overall 17-19mpg city vs highway. Have ScanGauge, once calibrated the SG matches hand calculation within 1-2%. Currently averaging 50/50% city/highway.

2015 Access Cab OR, V6, 4x4, with a SnugTop. Stock, including Rugged Fails tires, just under 50k miles.

Just took a trip from Southern WA to back home in Los Angeles. Took an easterly route through UT to see Arches, Canyonlands, Grand Staircase, Bryce and Zion. Mostly highway miles, under 200 offroad. Here is a list of my 10 gas stops. There is State, mileage, gallons of gas and MPG for that tank. I bought 87 Octane except where noted. Made a true effort to keep it 70 or under (even on UT 80 MPH highways ).

    LA 361.9 18.65 = 19.4 MPG
    NV 226.1 10.48 = 21.5
    UT 155.3 7.22 = 21.5 85 Octane
    UT 305.7 15.74 = 19.4 85 Octane
    UT 223.3 12.96 = 17.2 85 Octane
    UT 131.3 5.44 = 24.1 85 Octane
    UT 203.7 9.47 = 21.5 85 Octane
    UT 285.3 13.08 = 21.8 88 Octane?
    ID 246.0 11.90 = 20.7
    OR 199.6 9.44 = 21.1

    2338.2 miles. 114.38 gallons.

    Average 20.8 MPG

I average 23.9 MPG which includes every fill-up over the 8 years I've had this truck. It is 100% stock except for an aFe dry air filter... 2.7L 2wd access cab automatic 5-lug. Nothing fancy. It's my daily driver and I am pretty easy on it, mostly. I never tow but I do haul camping gear and dirt bikes regularly outside of winter, plus the occasional "move a friend" weekend. Miles are about 50/50 city/highway. MPG is the main reason why I bought the 2.7, plus it's a proven bulletproof engine. Now has 135,000 miles and runs like new. Also my current lifestyle just doesn't require a truck with V6 power.

Anyone know where I can find info on a gas mileage calculator and Odometer calculator for a 3 in OME lift with 33in tires. I haven't had speedo or anything recalibratied. Got lift and tires around 87k and at 111k (true reading actually higher). Trying to figure out what my actual odometer reading is and how to calculate gas mileage if I'm actually covering more miles than odometer reflects.

    Thanks

Check after check I was about 19.8 in mostly a 23 mile round trip commute with about 19 miles of that freeway. '09 AC 2.7 5 speed mt with 265-70x17s and a speedo that read correct mph at all speeds.

Best bet is to hit the freeway, set cruise and check speed on a GPS device. Some navigation apps and even OBD2 apps like Torque have GPS speed. Divide GPS speed by Speedometer speed. You should get a 1.0xx number. When you calculate gas mileage at the pump, multiply your miles driven by that 1.0xx number, then divide by gallons dispensed.

2010 access cab trd offroad, 4l v6 with 265-75-16. Best I ever got was the day I bought it. Cruise control set at 70mph, 99.9% highway- 21mpg's, worst I got was in January, between winter warmups & minuscule amount of driving in 4wheel drive on snow covered roads 12.94mpg's. on the average with 80% city driving I get between 17.5 & 18.5 mpg's pretty consistently.
