I knew him personally, and yes he has a great family. Super tight knit group that have lived in the same house since the start. Even with the success of not only Nicky, but Tommy and Roger Lee too, they kept their roots in the Boro! His work ethic was unmatched but what I'll mostly remember is his sense of humor. Man did we goof off in high school, the staff hated our crew haha

I remember when he went pro the day he turned 16 for Hyper Cycle Suzuki while the rest of us were excited to get a license. Next thing you know he dominates AMA, surpassing the legend Miguel Duhammel, and right into rookie of the year in MotoGP and the 06 title. It is truly a sad time for the Hayden family and his fiance Jackie, the city of Owensboro, and MotoGP.

I was pretty bummed when I heard of this. The guy spends his life on bikes that go over 200mph and ends on a road bike. Sad.

Honestly getting sick of hearing about bicyclist getting killed by cars. Seems to be happening a lot now.

My dad knows the accountant for Laguna Seca. He is going to talk to them about naming turn one after Nicky. Re-watch the 2005 Laguna Race and you'll know why. Everyone always talks about the corkscrew but turn 1 is supposed to be the scariest turn, as it's blind and you can't let off the gas if you want to get a good lap time.

That's cool you had a chance to know him.. I always thought he would've probably been a good down to earth cool guy, somebody I could hang out with.. His bros seemed the same way.. I watched a couple vids on him not more than a month or so ago, where he was walking around their house showing off his old room etc. I hate this for all of them.

Thru the years watching him, I've always thought man he's living a dream, it'd be awesome to do what he's doing.. And doing an awesome job doing it..

Known one ever knows when their time is up. I guess he fulfilled his life duty and it was time. Sad tho.

Nicky getting hit during a training ride on his road bike is absolutely insane. I hope he was riding with some partners.
Nicky didn't deserve to die like this. The dude could ride anything on two wheels. Nicky had his own style and it
was sick. I will miss hearing his name around the paddock. I know he is smoking his rear wheel in heaven. :bikewheelie:

Jeesus H christ....Ive been off the super bike scene for a few years, when I saw this I was hoping it was one of those fkn stupid fake news things. Ive watched the Haydens race for years and have been lucky enough to meet them in the paddocks for autographs. This is just to sad.
