When using my ARB compressor off my tacoma battery, do I want my engine running? Already used multiple times with the engine off, but this would seemingly drain my battery after a while, no?

You will never know when using the compressor with the truck turned off if it will start again until it doesn't. Then you will have air in the tires but no juice in the battery. I always air up or winch with the rig on.

You could hook up a volt meter.

You could also look up the amp draw on the compressor, then check your battery's reserve power and do a guesstimate.

You might be able to set up a low voltage cut-off if using your primary battery, or have a secondary battery. A lot of overlanders are running 2 batteries.

You could also just test it out at home. You should probably do this anyway so you have a good idea how long it takes to fill up, but also how to actually work the equipment. If you happen run out of juice while in your driveway, big deal, just get a jump from the wife/neighbor's car.

But probably the easiest thing to do is just have the rig running while filling up...

doesn't ARB say to only run with the truck running?
When I had my dual arb it said run while using it.

I know my Viair portable says to run the truck while hooked up as well.
Regardless like posted above, I wouldnt run it without the truck on.
