so I bought this 89 22re 4x4 toyota from a young boy whose parents didnt want to repair the truck because it'd cost them more than they could afford at the time.

Long story short the boy was in a small head on collision driver of the other car had no insurance and couldn't pay for the slight frame damage.

The family sold me the truck as is for $1000

But thats not what im here for... im here because id like to know from anyone who own's an 89 or similar what the max tire height you could fit on the truck with ease on stock height.

Doing a side by side comparison to my 2010 it looks like it would fit the 31's on my 2010 but I want to know for sure because I saw some nice 31 x 10.5 r15's for sale on craigslist with cheyennes mounted that if it would fit I would buy them in an instant

Not an expert but I had 31x10.5r15 on my stock '91 Toyota. No rubbing issues until my front springs were really worn out.

A bit late but 31x10.5 will fit. Here they are on my 94, ran the same setup on my 89.

Nice; doe's she rub at all on stock height? I don't mind doing minor trimming but finding a lift for the 89's is next to impossible now days and when you do find one they want an arm & leg for kit + shipping

I swapped the stock steel wheels for the SR5 alloys, but the SR5 wheels plus 31x10.5 duratracs did not rub at all. No trimming required. I think the early 4x4 trucks had a good ride height and don't need a lift.
