Installing tow mirrors with signals - help

I recently installed tow mirrors with built in turn signals on my 2014 Tacoma. They allow me to see much better when towing my travel trailer. However the turn signals don't function. The instructions claim they should on all 2012-on Tacomas being they should be plug and play. My harnesses do have all 5 wires yet the signals don't work. The kit came with extra harnesses to tap directly into ones vehicle harness for both turn signals. The instructions show which wires to tap into for 2005-08 and 2009-11 respectively.

Does anyone know which wires I need to look for on my 2014?

 

The wires from the signals are not installed in your doors. That was the case for mine as well. I had to run two new wires following the factory harness through the rubber door "hose" into the kick panel area. You might be disappointed in the light output of the led trying to use it as a signal. I ended up wiring mine as clearance lights.

 

Do you recall what the colors of the wires were for the turn signals? The 2009-11 spec shows solid yellow (LH) and solid light blue (RH).

 

Sorry no. I installed my mirrors about six months ago and I don't recall. I do remember that I did find both marker and signal in a connector that was located on each side under the kick panel. The trucks came with marker and signal light on higher trim levels but on lower trim levels they never ran the wires to the door and just stopped at the connector in the kick panel. Mine is a '12 SR5.
