I've noticed lately that my truck makes a whobble noise when I'm maintaining speed between 35-40mph, anything outside of this speed range there is no noise.

The steering wheel stays straight and it doesn't shake or anything, and the truck itself doesn't shake either.

I've had the tires rotated twice in the past month, have checked the air pressures, have tried under inflating (28psi) and overinflating( 40psi) all my tires and still the same.

I've checked all the CV, lca/uca, wheel bearings look good ( I know the noise of a bad wheel bearing ( mostly a humming noise) cause I had to replace one earlier in my trucks life)

Any ideas? Or has anyone else encountered something like this.

I'm wondering if it's just tire noise. The tires only have 15k miles on them ( Hankook), but I never noticed the noise before.

No lift, no modifications to the stock suspension.

I'm at a loss trying to figure out what it is

So I jacked up my truck and tested each tire by holding them at 12 and 6 positions and shaking..... there is slight movement, but the biggest thing is for my passenger front tire, if I spin it, there's a pretty apparent metal grinding sound that none of the tires have when spinning.

Looks like it's possibly the beginning of a bad wheel bearing.

I'm bringing it into the dealer tomorrow morning since my truck is still under warranty ( I bought a 7 year warranty back in 2010 that expires next months - otherwise I go to a local garage) to have them take a look,

    I'll report back.

my wobble noise turned out to be the front wheel bearing on the driver's side... Changed it out and the truck drives completely smooth now.

    Get one of these..

or another option is oreilly / autozone... they will have a hub assembly with bearing pressed in already, MUCH easier than trying to press in / out the bearing yourself unless you have a press.

You can do the job yourself with some simple tools in under a couple hours for your first time, I could probably do it in 30 minutes since I have recently done 4 of them.

Once my warranty expires, I probably need to learn to do this since these wheel bearings fail often in our tacomas

back in my day we would take the wheel off, remove the bearings and repack them and then with the old Ford 4x I had the grease from the front differential would keep the wheel bearing lubed... not sure how it works on the tacos.
