Around the 2nd week in September the wife and I will be leaving Washington for about 2 weeks on our way to Moab, and St. George. We are looking for some ideas on dispersed camping or cool spots to hit along the way.

Some of our ideas of spots to hit,

    - craters of the moon
    - yellowstone ( looking for camping around here )
    - moab
    - st george
    - grand canyon (picking up her sister thats flying into vegas half way through the trip, figured do a night down here)

If anyone has any tips or recommendations thats would be great!

If you have time for a detour from the normal Moab area stuff, check out Goblin Valley. The Hoodoos are pretty unique and it doesn't take a ton of time to explore. If you can catch it on a full moon night it is way cool and scary.
Also if you're heading north out of St George, Bryce Canyon is pretty cool.

I've been told a few times now to visit Bryce Canyon, is their dispersed camping in the area?
