So I've never done one of these before but I figured maybe it'll help someone.

Last week I started prepping to roll on Monstaliner. I replaced The front fenders because they were damaged by trails and LBJ failure. IMG_1301.jpg

Anyway, scuffing/ sanding is pretty terrible, i might have gone overboard or maybe not enough depends on who you ask. I used a orbital disc sander and went through 25- 150 grit and 25- 100 grit discs to get the done done to what I thought was good enough. And then I still did more after I took everything off, like the mirrors, handles, back windows, seals and molding and stuff. IMG_1333.jpg

After this I wiped it done with the MEK stuff they tell you to use, I did like a gallon of water and like 4 seconds and a splash of MEK, like mixing drinks.

Next came the taping off, taking your time is good when doing this because you want stuff to look nice obviously. I was givin the tip to cover my lights, windsheild and back window cause the rollers like to throw the stuff a little.

And then I wiped it down a few more times.

If you can in anyway possible I would spray the shit. I think it'll come out 1000 times better and be more consistent.

I say this because I think rolling is a lot slower and not as consistent. The liner kinda starts to clot up and one way or another ends up on your truck... looks not very good.

Also the rollers they provide are straight trash.

A you roll the start to come apart and leave little bits (sometimes big chunks) if foam in the paint. You can pick them out and try and fix it but it's really a pain.

If I were to do it again I would go get my own rollers, just like simple foam ones or something.

I did my tool box and edging like this and it came out waaay better. It's a lot smooth (not as textured) and I think covers it a lot better.

I'll post one when it have it all back together.

Overall I can tell you I probably might do it again with the knowledge I have know but I wouldn't do it very willingly.

I can't comment on the durability or anything yet as I just did it (8/9/17) but will try to keep this updated over time.

I'll try and answer any questions anyone has, if anyone looks at this ha.

I'm looking at doing this to my truck soon. What color options were there? I was looking at Durabak in light gray for mine.

They have tons of options, like 41 or so. I would recommend ordering their color chips and choosing from there.

    Awesome,
Awesome, thank you! Durabak only has 18 options. I can't wait to see how your truck looks when it's all back together.
