Looks like the ride rites over Daystar cradles could possibly be what I'm looking for, but have a question.

Has anyone run these in thick, heavy clay type mud and rocks? As much mud as I've seen the underside of my trucks take on, it seems these cradles (cups) will surely collect mud and rocks. I do see they have drainage slots, but not sure if they'll cut it in heavy mud.

    This kind of mud....

This stuff gets everywhere and sticks to everything. And brings rocks with it. Worried about mud just getting packed into the "cup" and really not allowing the ride rites to seat right when the springs compress.

I've decided against add a leaf. Possibly right amount of lift, but don't want the harsher ride on or off road. I want a slight lift in the rear, but want to maintain current ride characteristics when I'm not hauling loads.

Any lift in the back I want kept to an inch or less. Rules out the dakars. I'm putting Kings with compression adjusters on all 4 corners (700 lb springs up front), and will adjust the front for about 1.5 to 2" max lift.

Right now I'm running 265/75-16 ST Maxx's. Ultimately would like to go up to next taller tire once I wear these out, but that will be at least several years with the miles I put on the truck.

After all my research, I recently just saw a post as well about "slapping" with the daystar cradles when the bags hit the cups. How loud is this? How annoying? High speed desert runs type of thing...

I'm not a rock crawler. I'm an outdoorsman and hunter. Off roading - while obviously fun - is secondary to my other activities. My truck gets me from point A to point B, often over some very nasty, slow, full articulation, seriously 4 lo, locker engaged type terrain, and other times at speed over fair to fairly rough trails and roads. My truck gets used and abused. I enjoy the hell out of it. It needs to perform. It's not a mall crawler. If I didn't hunt, fish, camp and do shit in the outdoors, I'd own a BMW.

Sometimes I tow a fairly heavy but capable tent camper over these roads. Sometimes I've got the bed loaded heavy with camping and hunting equipment, or loads of firewood.

But I no longer have the option of leaving the Gen1 in the garage and driving a car as a daily driver. My Gen3 is my daily driver. But also needs to perform off road.

Are the ride rites and daystar cradles the answer for me?
