    Carquest in town has a machine shop

    As long as it's done right it will be fine. I had mine done by the local shop when I did my clutch a year and a half ago with no issues. Its cheaper than buying a new flywheel and will last (if done properly) the life of the next clutch. (coming from a machinist)

    When I was with Allstate years ago, if the chip was in line of sight they replaced, if it was not it got repaired if repairable. One car of mine had the windscreen so pitted - just from being old, that I had trouble seeing when the sun was low in the sky. I discussed it with my agent & he got it approved for replacement. We agreed a windshield claim was cheaper for them than a crash claim.

    Yup I think it cost me $80 for the flywheel to be done. Beats paying around $300 for a new one.

    I actually found an engine rebuilder a few miles from my lake house. Should save me a lot of monies! :thumbsup:

    They'd be available. Need some new hardware. I'm gonna cut them off of the stock LCA's soon.

    I already have a turbo car. FJ is just gonna be a trail beast/winter truck.

    I know, I know, but I needed a half ton.
    Anyone with dakars notice a clicking sound between first and second gear shortly after install? I got wheelers bushings for the rear of the truck but left the ones that came with it in for the front.

    This is a picture of the front of the leaf on the drivers side, to the right is the rear end. The spring appears off center and slid to the drivers side.. in guessing the clicking is the spring sliding on the bushing side to side. Any thoughts? Probably getting another set of wheelers bushings in the near future.

    Yours came with bushings already installed on one end? If so then you have the original design and you wouldn't have the isolator pads between all the leafs. Most likely that would be your noise not the slight movement. The leafs are gonna move side to side slightly when one side moves up and the other doesn't, that is why the packs have the rebound clips attached to help keep them aligned

    Should settle in, how many miles on them? Keep and eye on it, I wouldn't be overly concerned with it. Get some dry graphite spray and give them s good coating, this will the friction allowing them to set in.
