That grill looks really good on there! Im going to start messing with mine soon, just been holding off. I am selling my Satin black wheels to my brother, and waiting for the SCS Ray10's to get in stock in the grey color, or TRD offroad wheels...i like those too.

Please don't, your rig looks great as-is. It has a nice subtle understatement - the whole point of an SR IMO.

I need to order some for mine. I had them in my '11, and they were awesome. The new factory rubber mats are ok, definitely better than the older ones... but still not as good as weathertech

DON'T YOU KNOW THAT THIRD GENS SUCK>?

Haha, just kidding man, I'm jealous. If you want to do a flat trade for an 08 2.7 4x4 AC MT with 95k on it.. I will gladly trade you to take that third gen off your hands :D

All kidding aside, that is a beautiful truck, congrats, that beaut will probably last forever!

Your drivetrain is nearly identical to the new stuff, just curious how has it held up and what are your thoughts after 95K?

It's running flawlessly. I bought it used at 85K. The 1-2 synchro felt burnt, because it acts really funny in the winter( sub zero temp ) and it might be toast, but I replaced the transmission fluid, and right now it is running flawlessly. Not sure why the 1-2 synchro acts funny in the winter I basically had to double shift from 1-2 when after starting it in sub zero temp, but when it warmed up it after a few minutes was more friendly, it might have just been the tranny fluid was bad, I guess we will see this winter. Spring and summer the synchro feels perfect .

That is the only issue I've had with it. If the synchro is burnt, it might have been the previous owners bad driving habits that caused that. Fingers crossed the fluid fixed the issue.

Frame was rust free when I got it last year, but now I am seeing some rust.

EDIT: even if my synchro is burnt, I got the truck for 15,000$, and I feel like at the time I made a better investment than buying a brand new truck. replacing the synchro would probably cost around 1,200, so overall I am very satisfied with the Truck. I off road regularly with no issues. I'm just hoping the new tran fluid fixed the issue I was having with the 1-2 synchro.

I've had a few higher mileage manual transmissions and they have all done the same thing. Just a fluid change can make worlds of difference, almost like having a new trans! Pretty sure you will have better luck this winter and hell yea you did, there's plenty of life left in that truck yet.

Ya just took it to the factory shop for the leaf spring recall. Mechanic said it's in really good shape for how many miles it has.

My understanding about the leaf spring recall is certain second gen trucks leaf springs would go out if towing too much or something. Not applicable really to my four banger, but I just got few new leaf springs anyway :D
Also in regard to the leaf springs, my 05 trdOR never had any issues, and I towed max weight with it a ton of times.

That is a very nice truck. The red is bright but not too bright, I like it. On the fence about the "face" of the 3rd gens... taste is subjective.

    Enjoy the new ride :D

Nice truck. I like that wheel/tire combo. Where'd you get the Tacoma door badges? I want to add them to my Taco.

    Looks good.
Can you not turn off the hill start assist? I have a setting in my challenger that I can turn off.
It didn't surprise me as much as a caddy ats that I rented a few years back that had the auto engine cutoff at stop lights. Never heard of it before and freaked me out a bit.
