I live out here in Kern County CA. Its the Mojave desert, people die in 1 day without water. We have had triple digits for almost 50 days straight. Sorry to say, but I don't think this is going to end well for anyone.

Was in JT over the weekend. The missing persons flyers for them are still on the restroom doors.
Very sad.... it was 90° hot most of the evening in some spots and 65° in some other areas as we drove through from south to north around 6:30AM.

Now it's more or less a recovery so the parents can have some closure

The more I look at them the more I think you're right. Not quite an exact match.

Update, they find 2 bodies today near where the 2 were hiking and the father of the male was present when they discovered the body. At least the family had closure now

Glad they found their bodies, but it sucks. They were so young. Damn shame.

Super sad. Be careful when hiking on the desert - bring tons of water and lights for traveling after sunset. God be with both of their families.:pout:

I volunteer with a group that searches for lost and missing people. We travel all over the Southeast. In this case it "appears" to simply be a lost couple. But in a large number of our searches it ends up being suicide or murder. When remains are found months, or sometimes years later there usually isn't enough to determine cause of death unless a note is found.

Often suicide victims don't want to be found and make things very difficult, even leaving false clues to get us looking in the wrong places. One guy made it appear that he had met someone online and had left town with them. It took us 5 months and multiple searches to find him.

We've found remains of people missing for over 2 years and may have located one in June that had been missing since 2007. We found significant clues and cadaver dogs showed a lot of interest near them. But after 10 years small bone fragments are all that would be left. Local LE will hopefully dig up the area and sift soil looking for bone fragments large enough for DNA testing. I've seen a lot of crazy stuff doing this.
