Granted, I'm new to the group too, but I do my fair share of adventuring. 41 out of 50 states thus far. My goal will be to get out as often as I can get away, but I may not always be headed out wheeling. I enjoy a little camping, hunting, fishing, and photography, too. I've got a 3 week trip to explore the southeast coming up starting the end of September.

Next summer, I'd like to get a group together to go to the UP Michigan / Copper Harbor area. Perfect beaches, fun trails, and a great time, but it's a haul, 12-14 hrs depending on routes and traffic. Might be more than anyone could commit. I had a blast last time I went. Random thought.

My suggestion is if you want to do something, just say you're doing it, and see who wants to join. Seems like that's how a lot of these gain momentum. That's how the LBL trip got sorted.

EXcellent advice... I appreciate it. I didn't even think about recovery points. I have the large TRD hook looking thing up front, but I believe its only on the passenger side. Then I do have the tow package so I could do the shackle hitch in the near term. I honestly hate my chrome rear bumper... so it may be a good reason (down the road) to replace it with something a little more durable and with built in recovery points.

Don't forget maxtrax or similar. If you are alone, it might give you a chance between that and a shovel.

My Taco is still running the stock T/A's (BFG Rugged Trails)... I'll most likely wait until they're toast before moving to something bigger or more aggressive.

    1) Welcome
    2) If you hate your chrome bumper, the best thing to do is take it wheeling and snap it in half. 10/10 would recommend to anyone.

Planning to avoid this until sometime next year when I replace the rear bumper, fingers crossed.
