This story (BTW, legend status for rolling your truck while not off road and nobody getting hurt) reinforces my belief that the airbags for the Tacomas and 4Runners have a speed, angular velocity and angle component built into them to prevent premature airbag detonation when off roading. So, a slow steep angle won't set them off because that is common when crawling off road. But, if you were going a bit faster and did the exact same thing the airbags probably would have deployed.
Great story OP! And you hooked up with the girl too! And you got a hood scoop! #winning

Okay, sorry about the fatfinger in the photo, but it is pretty much complete finally!

Ended up using outdoor double sided adhesive tape and glued about 4 strong magnets to the longer light bar. (I plan to coat them with a thin rubber something later) I plan to put some nice connectors that are easily disconnectable and have an extension section that can be stuck in. Then the light can be mounted to the hood, roof, pillar, etc for directional light wherever you need it for example while camping.

So far the magnets have worked like a champ!
