I don't think my cruiser is feeling good, the dash puked out a whole bunch of rotten 90s hifi nonsense.

 

Got my front speakers in finally, stupid doors on this thing have like zero depth for a speaker. But they're in well now and sound very good. Still gotta do the rears but those should be much easier.

 

I still have the stock rears. New fronts with tweeters + the woofer in a box + some tweaking with the amp and it's rockin'. My rears weren't blown and they're just fill in my book. If I blow them I'll replace later. I biased the front speakers over the rear. Actually, all nine speakers work in mine.

 

I finally finished my install the other day, fronts are in with a papers width to spare. Rears were easy peasy once I found a good adhesive to modify the stock baskets with. Although my rears weren't blown either. I unplugged the third row tweeters and the dash tweeters and the stock amp. She sounds really nice now, I'm actually very impressed with the speakers I bought. Just need to figure out the sub and then tweak the eq and filters to take some bass outta the doors so I can drive them more.

Google probably gets you there. I was keen to keep the stock look on all speakers, but to each his own. It's about enjoying the vehicle. My woofers were shredded on both 80's.

I had some pro help with the stereo install and the stock amp is disconnected and the other speakers are wired in. I would have never done all of that on my own.

 

Other than the stereo face plate mine still looks 100% stock. I'm a closet audiophile and the cruiser looks great to me so I wanted good sound and to keep it super stock looking.

 

I saw pretty quick that my skills hadn't kept up with technology when I went looking.

You added any power ports yet? That's the other thing these don't have.

 

Need to get this thing polished, paint was fresh when I got it so it has never had a real exterior detail since the repaint.

Put a new hitch on it today, needed a little rise from how low the 2" coupler is, plus it needed a 2 5/8" ball on it for the trailer. Now I just have to decide if I want to add a brake controller for the trailer brakes, never actually seen them work so I'm not too sure. The Tekonsha P3 looks like a nice option but it requires some wiring that I'm not sure I have the time for.

 

Updates? Looking to get the engine in my 1997 rebuilt next year. If I can close the deal on the supercharger, May have to add that too.

 

This weekend I'll be doing a front brake overhaul. All new OEM rotors, pads, hardware, and shims. Other than that I really haven't done much, I do have a nice write-up to make for the brake controller I installed. Right now I'm searching for the right components to overhaul my suspension, the rear is sagging a bit and I have a feeling the 24 year old shocks aren't pulling their weight.

 

A nice affordable option is the OME set-up. I have it on my 1997 and it gives you about 2.5-3" of lift with a better ride. Of course, there are more expensive/better options. Icon is very nice. I have that on my Tacoma.

Thanks, I'm going to go through all of that. Right now I really don't want any lift, it's a good height and the tires don't look to small, but when I put anything in the back or hitch up my trailer it sits on the cone bumps in the coil springs. So I just need a refresh not really a lift. I'm thinking some new 100 series rear coils can do the trick here maybe.

 

Still have piles of parts waiting to go on this and my Tacoma, but I don't have the time to put any of it on

 

Sub, I love these things! My family had one of these for several years, same color, interior, year and everything. It was one of the very first vehicles I drove.

 

They're awesome! I just did a brake job on it and I'm back to dailying it. Needs a subwoofer pretty badly haha, but other than that it's a great daily.
