You should see what dealers up here in Alaska charge..... The used market is crazy bare too. Cost me 1050 for a used leer 100r with minimal upgrades and some body wear areas......

IMG_1188.jpg Have had the Leer 180 with windoors on both sides and removable cabside window. Totally pleased, although I haven't yet had to remove the window for cleaning. No leaks and I've been in huge rain. The extra vertical space of the 180 was something I really wanted and I haven't need disappointed. Also the leer doesn't have any of the fit issues that I've read about with other shell manufacturers.

I have been looking at getting a leer 100xr for my truck. But I came across a leer 180xr in the wrong color for sale kinda close to me.

It has sliding Windows on both sides
    Carpeted roof
    Sliding front window
    Led interior lights.
It is Silver and I would want it black
Says it's only 2 months old and mint

Seller wants $500 for it. It is a 4 hour drive for me to get it. What do u guys think? I think it is a great price, but the drive, color, and fact that it is a mid rise shell has me questioning spending my shell savings for it.

All of my local dealers had similar prices.... What I did find is that some dealers didn't quote all of the options I requested. Lack of attention to detail.

I would say its worth the drive for $500 its way cheaper then spending $2000 on a new topper. You could always paint it later silver and black don't look to bad together.

Mid rise top looks dorkish IMO

Better to spend a little more $$$ and get Exactly what you want....

I really like the MX ARE- now trying to find the right cab top rack to even up the hight difference between cab and shell. I'm thinking about just putting in some tie down eyes on the Yakima rails on the shell like the OEM ones that Toyota supplies for the bed rails, if I can find such a thing. - anyone see any?IMG_0694.jpg IMG_0692.jpg IMG_0693.jpg

I'm in the same boat. I want a cap, but would rather spend the money on what I really want.

Lol cab high tops look like your ass is sagging IMO. Mid rise+tacoma=match made in heaven! Unless your like 4' tall and never climb into the back of your truck. ;-)

Mid-rise looks good. I ordered a CX, but kinda wished I ordered an MX. Wife didn't want taller access to the roof.

How easy is it to remove the topper? In the event you do need to haul something big and bulky?

100XR, got the removable front window for ease of cleaning, carpeted headliner and LED tube light. It really lights up the inside really well.

It's doable, but a pain in the ass... I built some tall sawhorses that I could drive the truck between, jack the cap up, and slide 2x4s under to support the cap so I could drive the truck out from under. Did it once... then proceeded to by a 5x8 utility trailer.

It's a cumbersome process. Cap + trailer is the absolute perfect combination.

Does anyone have the Alu-cab canopy? I would really like to see pics of it on a 3rd gen. Especially the inside. Also, what thoughts/experience with that canopy has been. Price wise it's at the top end of canopies but might be a pretty good choice but I would really like to pick someones brain about it.
